Howdy! Welcome to life here in Austin where we are no stranger to the danger that comes with hail. So here’s what we have that protects our cars from hail when it comes down.
REMEMBER, severe storm season starts in March here in Texas, so now is the time to prepare.

How heavy is it? I’m in NY but storm season weather has been getting worse by the year.

Not heavy at all. It’s like a much larger camping tent, but that same kind of weight and material.

Thanks for the info. Learn something new everyday. I have never heard of a hail protector considering we do get hail in my region especially hurricane season.

That would sux if you didn't get that on in time. That would be good for the winter to keep all the snow or ice storm over night. So im guessing you need to leave the pump running the whole time.

You leave the pump running for as long as the storm is over you which is normally less than an hour or so here. I put it on a timer and have it turn on and off at whatever time makes sense.

So mine wouldn't fully inflate until I took that extra piece of velcro out that they told us to put on there so that it could vent. Do you have your setup with the extra velcro that keeps the pocket open or without?

Apologies, I’m not sure exactly what you mean, I didn’t have to do anything with mine other than attach the blower assembly. I wonder if they changed the design since I bought mine a couple years ago.

@joshjamescars that could be it.. but the video I watched seemed older. It showed the guy adding an extra velcro to the velcro part to keep it open. It didn't inflate fully with that so I took it off

That was cute I never new a product like this exists...ty for the info. I can imagine the person that created this protector was like...Dang what to do to avoid hail to damage my car.... and boom voila

How loud is it? Would it keep neighbors up at night? I know during a storm it wouldn’t matter but I’d be worried about a false alarm, where I set it up at night anticipating a storm and we don’t get hail.

Not loud at all, we actually had it running all night last night and we can’t even hear it from inside our own house. It’s about as loud as if you were to set any ordinary house fan in your driveway.

Was pretty interested until I saw the size of the bag! The purpose would be to protect my truck at work or at home meaning I would need to carry that huge bag at all times :/

I mean… would you rather carry that on days when you know it would hail or would you rather have a hail damaged vehicle? It would fit no problem in the trunk of a tiny sedan, so I don’t think you’d have an issue. And I’m hoping wherever you live, you’re only actually having to carry this maybe 5-10 days a year!

@@joshjamescars I live in South Texas where the weather is kind of unpredictable so I would need to carry this for months on to be on the safe side :/ I'll keep it in mind though

I received this 1 week ago and called them to return it since I received a email stating that there was a issue in production and that I had to fix/rearrange the 4 blowers, the box has NEVER been opened and I decided that I no longer wanted it and called to return it, they are having me pay for the return even though it is a production issue, their customer service is horrible and this is totally unacceptable and dishonest, STAY AWAY.

Sorry that this happened to you, I’d escalate the issue if there is actually something that’s not functional about the product you received. However, you also say that the reason you want to return it is that it is fully functional but you no longer want it, then it would be fair for them to ask you to pay for return shipping.
