To criticize his work is one thing (founded or not), but to call him out for his vocabulary is another. This is a free video that we pay nothing to watch. Nothing says he is a professional teacher. If you understand his message, then you got what you came here for.
Collisional techs do it essentially just as he did. I mean it’s my rocket science...it’s not like he’s welding with a tig I feel confident you could teach most ppl how to use a stud gun. I mean, you use a grinder then maybe scotchbrite , weld studs, pull, then use filler, prime and paint it
These are the worst and you go through so many studs on any kind of decent dent or crease. The washer style slide hammer with the gun attached is so much more economical and efficient. Great video and great explanation on how to stress release the area as you are pulling.
Hey so even though this video is six-years-old I just wanted to give you a shout out and thank you so much for making this video there are so many videos on RU-vid that are not helpful at all in yours was so clear so my husband bought the same kit and was stressed out because the Pooler wasn't working but he figure it out with your video that he was doing it the wrong way so thanks God bless
I agree with your technique nice demo and you want to minimize the depth of the dent your filling with bondo. Because even bondo has limits interms of depth. Curious if you can demonstrate the autobody tools like the 10 Ton Super Heavy Duty Portable Hydraulic Equipment Kit from harbor freight and the 7 Pc Hydraulic Auto Body/Frame Repair Kit from harbor freight. I am a little shakey when it comes to autobody. So like to know when you guys uses the pull back rams and how often you actually fix frames and stuff rather then new replacement parts. As to me it seems time consuming to stretch frames and such. But i am curious of the different pieces of all these kits haven't figured them out quite yet.
thanks, backed into my front fender and door...bought a painted fender, perfect match, but door is caved in and pretty narly...but want to fix it myself, i think this will work for me, thanks again.
A good DA is the husky 6in pad at home depot around $60 but you can find cheaper DA also you can buy more expensive also. But generally you want the 6in Random orbital sander pneumatic. Good luck!
I purchase one , but studs don't stay , I grinded the area , I hold the gun 2 seconds , feel strong , but once I pull , stud it fall , any idea ? Thanks
Harbor Freight is key. This is a basic Stud Welder from Harbor Freight so ofcourse it costs only $179. Its not made for actual threaded studs you'd want to weld on that 1k+ stud welders can do.
I borrowed it from my friend and he used all of the 3mm studs so I was left with the 2mm ones. My slide hammer absolutely will not grip the studs at all. I tried several studs and over and over again. It just won't grip them. Useless.
3m prep wheel won't do it. Looks like he used 36 grit to remove the stud weld. He should've stopped though after the bulk of the stud was gone, and finished the last sliver of it with 60 grit.
Just terrible. Start from the outside of the dent and work towards the center. Realized you were clueless when you said the 3mm studs were for the old iron cars.
But it still would’ve needed filler. And really when you put a skim in, you should always be skimming the filler on to bare metal as it doesn’t adhere very well to paint and it’ll stop it edging up.
Thanks for your video but you should point out you are not professional body repair expert. Not too bad for novice suggestions but a long way to go to get to achieve professional methods and results. Have you read the comments on these Harbor Freight Welders on their own site? Hmmmm??? Kind of sketchy at best.
If you are going to comment nitpick on a DIY video like you are the UTube police, you should admit that you have an IQ of 70 and are single with no friends. :D
