That's the chillest cat I've ever seen. I struggle getting even a regular collar on my cat.

Tried it today. doesn't work with a high-strung cat. the cat in the video is relaxed, not my cat.

Tip: the string is long enough to go behind the front legs, the kitten won't be able to take it off, and less restrictions on the neck.

The "weaving" is the difficult part and this video doesn't show those steps.

Such a simple cool video! Informative, too! You can tell right away that it's over a decade old, but that makes it endearing & the knowledge stands.

"Already pre-made" because it's a fucking nightmare to actually weave those things. Also as usual cats in RU-vid videos are the chillest cats to ever live. Mine would tear me to shreds if I tried this.

HELP NOW!! What if your cat is REALLY scared and would bite anyone who tried to put on that? is there any tip to do it? Should you be really patient and slow and calm to put on. Or should you hold a tight grip and force on her fast? Help!

what did you find out? dealing with this now and not finding any answers but my cat is very scared of this and I haven't gotten it on yet :/

@@axelgraham6928 I found out something that really helped me and my cat. (funnel = cat cone) Since I had my mother, we were two, but I managed to do it by myself later on too. I'll explain everything and different ways. (I'll talk mostly about my cat, so sorry if I use "her/she" a lot) I prepared a blanket or a towel, big enough to cover her body and more. I had it in my both hands, ready to use it. I waited for her to lie down or at least sit and I would be behind her, fooling her I'm not about to do anything. (If you have trouble getting her to sit or be in the right position. I used some cat food or cat treats and put it out for her. Also a great way to lure the cat to you. So when she was eating, she would be in a great position and hopefully a bit distracted. And make sure you grab her when she's not chewing or swallowing. So you don't make her choke or so. Depending what treat you give her) And then as fast as I can, without her seeing or sensing it, I quickly cover her body, except the head, with the blanket/towel and quickly press her body together with my hands and arms. Pressing her paws and arms together so she wouldn't be able to scratch me, and almost wrap the towel/blanket under her body too if you manage. And hold her tight in a way where she can't turn her head to bite you either. (I practiced on a stuffed animal to be more confident before doing it and that really helped) *If you have someone to help you:* You hold the cat in a tight, but not harmful, grip. So she can't move away or move her paws to scratch you. The towel itself will calm her down a bit, hopefully, and she will let you do it if you're confident holding her and she feels like she can't escape. I used a soft and calming voice to her. And pet her with my thumb or whatever I can manage, to calm her down. That's important. For her to trusting you and feel more safe. Don't want to put her through distress that's not necessary. The other person can be prepared too with the funnel, having the funnel behind them or something so the cat CAN'T see the funnel. Or the cat will know what's up and run and hide, probably. Thanks to you holding the cat still, the other person just pushes the funnel over the cats head and over her ears until it's around her neck. Do it pretty fast. And then the person secure it so it won't come off. Not too tight, you should be able to have one or two fingers between the cats neck and the funnel. So she won't choke, and still won't be able to get it off. *If you're alone:* It will probably be harder, at least the first times, to do it by yourself. But I managed to find my ways and did it easily by myself after a while. It's the same thing here in the beginning. But have the funnel behind *you* instead, so you can easily access it when time comes, but without the cat seeing it or sensing it. (my cat didn't care when she saw the funnel the first times, but then she realized what I was about to do, and ran as soon as I touched to grab the funnel) And prepare the blanket, sitting behind her. Maybe petting her or act natural. Then again cover her body with it fast. Holding her body tight together so she can't escape. Holding her elbows together and arms so she can't scratch you. That's what the blanket is for too. And the blanket will give a comforting vibe. She would definitely, I think, be more scared if you just held her with her arms, at least in the beginning. And if you manage to fold the blanked under her body, until she's wrapped in a burrito almost, it will make it easier for you to let go one hand when time comes. But it can work anyways. And now you can go different ways, whatever you think will work for you or how you can manage it. I had to find my way of doing it alone, and it was a bit difficult at first. I held her still like other times and if I felt she eventually calmed down, and I could tell she wouldn't run off if I removed one hand, then I'd carefully but determined remove on hand. Maybe leaning down and using my bicep to hold her together in place. And somehow grap the funnel and put it over her head. OR replace one hand with your foot or leg instead. Depending if you're flexible or can manage to sit in thst position. (my cat always calmed down as soon as I put the tunnel over her head, she probably realized there was nothing for her to do. So I could just release her, maybe holding a hand on her shoulders to keep her down and still. And then secure the funnel. OR, like I mentioned just two sentences ago. I also did the same thing in the beginning but then moved my hands that were holding her sides, and moved them on her shoulders and top back. Pushing her down, gently but firm. And then if you feel she won't run away from that "grip", you can remove one hand, the other hand still holding her down on the shoulders and back, and use the other hand to put on the funnel. I think this one is helpful, if your cat will allow it. Maybe after a few times of doing it. Maybe not the first times, if the cats is really scared and resisting. OR, you could try, after you've held her in the grip like said many times. You could try and move your legs or thighs and hold her together with them, replace your hands and arms with your legs. Although, for me, I failed when I first tried it. She managed to escape when I was switching. So you gotta do it smoothly and fast. I succeeded the next time. So I'd probably test the other things first, if you don't think this will be easy for you. But the more I put on the funnel, the easier it was to put it on. Even so that after a few times, I didn't even have to use the blanket at all. I just grabbed her and held her down and put the tunnel on. And here, I only used one hand to push her shoulders and back down, so she lied firmly but gently against the floor, and pushed the funnel quickly over her head. You'll definitely find your way, I hope! Important and helpful tips: + Be calm when doing it. Cats can sense if you're really nervous and freaking out. So try to breathe and calm yourself. + Depending what funnel you use, if you have one with holes to thread something through. Use a cat necklace, and one with a belt buckle and NOT one with clip on. Then the cat can't remove it. Easy to make sure you have it the same tightness every time then and both be more comfortable and more secured for your cat. + You can give your cat some treats after so it'll feel somewhat good for letting you put it on. And to make it a bit happier. Since most cats almost get depressed with having it on. Mine did. + Google and definitely look at RU-vid videos for help if you're struggling or want to be certain. If you know what you're gonna do and is at least somewhat confident and calm with it; I'll help both you and your cat. I really hope my text will help. I'm Swedish so my English isn't the best, but hope you understand. Please tell me if something is unclear. And please, if you have ANY more questions. Please ask. I've gone through this. So I've discovered helpful tricks and learned a lot of different and helpful ways. Be free to ask! Hope it'll work out for you! Take care!

@@axelgraham6928 Also I'd like to mention this: You can search on RU-vid for towel wrapping your cat. And you'll get many ideas on how to do that. It's basically what I described, but more the burrito kind with the cat sitting on a towel. For me, to get my cat on a towel like that, would be rather uncommon. So my way, worked perfectly fine for me. Depending on your cat. Here's a video link for an example on towel wrap. If you manage to get your cat onto a blanket or towel, big on the ends like in the video. You can also try doing this. Then the cat won't be able to escape, nor scratch or bit you. And then put the funnel on: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2VSJ4B0fTzs.html

@@axelgraham6928 And of course, towel wrap maybe won't be the way for you and your cat. But since your cat is a bit scared too. I'd really think this would be the way. To both you and your cat. And also it feels like the most nicest way. And not just grab the cat harshly and put it on. A bit more comforting and calmer way. Some way too, if you want the more "harsher" way. You can probably grab the cat in the neck skin and hold her down against the floor, and then quickly put the funnel over its head. But my cat don't have a good neck skin to grab, so I never tried it. And the towel thing, for me, felt much better to do. Less "cruel" in a way. Sorry if my answers are too long. Just wanted to give you the help I never got lol. Good luck! :)

@@linnsondergaard1854 very helpful thanks from Florida USA. My question is how long do need to leave it on. My doctor never told me. Is it as long as the stitches are in? Also my cat just had an ear taken off, so I don't know how to handle that. Thanks for any advice!
