After doing it everyday for 4 months or so, I show the best way to put on and take off a heavy duty type car cover. See my video on 'gust guards' for car covers for windy days here: • Gust Guard kit for car...
This is the first video I've seen which accurately shows how to do this. It made clear that the method for REMOVING the car cover is just as important as putting it back on. Thanks for this.
Why are you saying “how about showing me how to cover that” as if he can magically spawn a giant soccer mom SUV and lose about 7 inches in height… Grab a step ladder and do it the exact same way lady… It’s not that hard my god use your brain
I try not to drag the cover on the car to avoid putting in swirl marks and scratches on bare paint. If you car is PPF'd then, you don't need to worry about scratches.
I just had to comment on your video!! I’m 4”11 and have a bad back, my car is parked under a load of trees and is white!! Need I say more, lol. So I was very troubled with how I was going to do this by myself. I turned to the videos and yours was the third one and the BEST one!! WORKS like a charm!!! Thank you so much!!!
I especially appreciate how you included the stopwatch to show how little it took you to do both activities. I recently moved into a place where I will have to regularly put on a car cover and was dreading how long and painful it would be to do so, until I saw it would actually take less than a minute. I have tested it myself and am quite relieved at how much easier this actually is than I thought. Thank you so much for taking the time to film this.
Very nice. I just picked up my C7 two weeks ago and my cover showed up last night. Wanted to see the best way to do this, and BAM, there you were. Great video. Thanks!
I watched your video yesterday and when I left the house I tried your technique and WOW what a difference! It worked perfectly. I had to come back on and give you the credit for it! Great video - thanks so much for saving the hassle and time to put on and remove my car cover
This is awesome! I’ve been putting it off because the directions tell me to food a certain way and I roll my clothes so why not my car cover! Thanks SO much!
You explained everything well. The only thing I have trouble with is taking the cover off in windy, Gusty conditions without it landing on the ground? I use gust straps to secure it during the Day. I cover my car in the asphalt parking lot at work & before I leave, 90% of the time I have to deal with the wind, mostly unsuccessfully & part of my cover lands on the asphalt, picking up sand & gravel segments. Not fun!
Well this car cover is obviously made for that car. We don’t all have ‘designer covers’, so, how do you apply the cover by yourself when you have to secure it with straps
@@DkpProductions yes, I have it down to a fine art now, except when the slightest bit of wind it blowing. Even though my cover is heavy, the moment I unclip the clips the whole thing just blows off onto the ground🫤
Nice video man! Thanks for it! Do you also have some tips for putting on a cover when it's windy outside? - Edited - Spotted your video in the description on this topic, I will have a look 😂👍
I made a real mistake when I bought a car cover, considering my circumstances. All that I seem to do is scratch up my paint by spreading on dirt and dust putting it on and taking it off.
Thanks for the video. It's helpful, but what do you do on the mornings you're heading to work and it's pouring rain? I'm guessing there's no way to get it off without getting drenched yourself.
I can see this being a problem in an area where it rains a lot. I'm in a location where there is very little rain. I check the weather for the week and usually leave the cover off if there's rain the following day. When the rain passes, I wash the car, and the car cover goes back on.
Everything was fine until you dragged it across the top of your car to remove it. That's one quick way to scratch the top of your car. Try rolling it off.
I have no need to use the cover any more. Back when I did, yes, I covered it every night. It takes a lot of wind to blow it off. On extremely windy days I would use this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GrONCdqztuE.html&ab_channel=DarkStoneCastle
@@DarkStoneCastle Thank you for quick response. I bought a 2012 mustang convertible that is kept outside in Florida. It's been leaking since the tropical storm we just had. I'm trying to figure out whether or not to cover it for the future. I guess your car(s) are garaged or you just don't feel it's worth the hassle of everyday covering.
Very handy for hardtop convertibles if you don't want to keep closing the roof. Do note that you have to have it inside a garage to keep it safe if you wish to keep the roof open under the cover. Do make sure you have purged it from insects and that wildlife as well as cats have no access to it. Alternatively there's car covers that secure well and snug on specific car models. In my experience as long as I drive the car every day or every two days no bugs will actually end up inside as long as it is parked in the garage.
THank you soo much for timing it and showing the exact seconds it took to put and remove the cover !!!! Everytime the car is parked outside there is some water seeping in issue and thinking of a cover or park inside issues. Thanks a lot. Great video!:)
I'm betting it will take me much longer than a minute 50. I live underneath pine trees and the needles are driving me nuts. I have one now stuck in my side mirror that taps loudly while driving. It won't help much with the pine cones tho, I had one last week that fell and broke my brand new windshield wiper, it was closed and soaking wet so it hit like a missile.
Thanks for video much much i get from it. , but how you use it when rain ? Cover need to be put at clean car ? I live UK for r129 sl and I have no garage so I use cover but only after wash, once I put at but wet car and since I got swirl on it most at roof. Thanks.
I put it on in the rain if I need to. It will dry out in a very quickly. Best way to dry it out is on the car. Sure, it might get the car a little dirty, but I just use waterless car wash/spray and a microfiber towel to clean it up on occasion if I need to.
