How to put your own samples into a Kurzweil PC3k

that kinda sucks! i just got a pc3 hoping to be able to that. Luckily it was dirt cheap.

You are right. I added a note above and in the description text. Saves A LOT of work.

The K26 can also load samples. The synth engine has some features that are not present in the later models and vice versa. But you can load 90% of the old Kseries sounds into the newer ones. The newer have a higher fidelity sound, more porwerful FX sections, more voices, way more sampling ram and non volatile, FM engine, step-modulationsequencer and lower quality hardware.

When Kurzweil bought the Grand D expansion and sold it already built in as the "A" version of the PC3, it was also made clear that this is the end of loading samples into the PC3. You can just have one: Either loading samples or the Grand D expansion.

Sorry for my late answer. well, as Karol K already stated, the LE cannot load samples. But, it should be able to load the sound anyway, but what you get is just the programs that the sample (Keymap) is attached to. I can do the same with my PC361, with the result that it plays rubbish noise. But the programs are there. You can still have the benefit of using the programs at least. How you do that: go into EDIT, go to the page where the momentary keymap is selected (for this layer - but this is of no concern, since the programs only have one) and the choose a different one. I don´t know exactly what is inside the LE, but I´d suggest to search for the Clavi keymaps. there should be several. Take one that you like and then you can play those programs, with the difference that you use an internal keymap instead of my sampled one. Try the sliders (in that case knobs) and the SW next to the MOD wheel. Since the LE has a different controller layout, I cannot say how it works with the things that the sliders do on a non LE. Also, I used some FX for those sounds that might not be there in a LE. Good luck!

@@edoimam9668 No the PC361 CAN NOT load samples. The "sister" PC3K6 can do it. They are pretty much compatible to each other with the synth engine, just the 361 can´t load samples. You will find information about those instruments on Kurzweil´s website. You have to look for the 361 under "legacy" instruments since it´s not sold any more.

No, not on a non-K.

I don´t know, haven´t used in in a while. Maybe... try in Admin mode? Try compatibility mode with older Win versions? Sometimes this helps. When I used it, also Win10 64bit. Sorry, don´t remember exactly. But as you can see, it was running.

Hello, I guess you mean the PC4? Most likely yes, but I did not work with samples on it yet. Just have it since 3 weeks now. But since the PC4 is downwards compatible, I guess it will load any keymap that is done for the previous instruments, too. EDIT, Update: It does.

Thx! Well... I guess english is the majority all over the world. Maybe if Russia wins the war, this might change. Germany has missed it´s chance some time ago. It was better that way, I guess. 😏

Honestly mate you could already write nice textbooks about these things on KURZ PC3k for community. Too bad it hasn't happened yet. Because there is still an interest and a need for it today.

@@Kaffimusic Ja, dann wenn Du möchtest, dass Putin nicht gewinnen tut, dann solltest Du auf Heizung, Warmwasser und Deine Lebensqualität ganz verzichten. Aber da der Westen gewinnen will, musste man für Kohle-Wassarstoffe,-sprich Energieträger, die Jahrzehnte lang aus der glorreichen Sowjetunion, und später aus Russland als ihrer Nachfolger, kamen,- nun auch „Liebhaberpreise“ zahlen, oder? Und Englisch soll dan dann etwa preismildernd dienen, weil Untertanentun Gnade bedeutet? Das kann doch nicht wahr sein hier!
