These days I normally price jobs up at £2 per window and then round it down slightly. I don’t see the point of charging low prices, it is easy to forget that we get no holiday pay, no employer’s pension contributions, no sick pay and on top of all that I calculate I lose about six weeks per year to bad weather. There’s plenty of work around (I’m currently two weeks behind), low prices tend to attract low quality customers in my experience.

Yes, good point. I live in a cheaper area of the country, but my prices have gone up since I made this video. It’s important to at least have a method to work from when quoting.😃👍🏼

That's a true business man right there! You sound like you know that there is more to running a business than the few hours you send at someone's home cleaning. As a drywall estimator in Canada, I've learned that a good business has a lot of other costs right down to the software you use for your accounts, and holidays as you mentioned (I used to window clean in Ireland) ;-)

Hi everyone. I clean windows in North London . I would charge about £22 ish if it’s every 8 weeks with wfp . Trouble is lots of people want to wait till there windows get really dirty to get them cleaned so they hang onto there money . They ring me every 4 months but still don’t want to pay much. I cover myself by cleaning common areas in flats and domestic cleaning which pays good money round here. I’ve been cleaning over 30 years.

Cheers Ashley another useful video especially for newcomers, its always a slight balancing act with prices especially as you say its depending on the area, distance, downtime with driving in between etc, i guess best to know your minimum per hour is very essential as never go below that. Good luck everyone especially with challenging months ahead. Cheers Andrew, Stamps Cleaning Services.

That’s cool price. And the price you’ve just said is spot on. .... we was working yesterday on round in Liverpool big house converted into flats ground floor second and third we clean the second floor flat (wfp). For £10.00 (4weekly) ... there was anoth window cleaner doing ground floor (trad) I know the guy he said you taking on anymore work so I said year he said you can this one because it’s out my way i asked how much he said £2.00 I said ste I wouldn’t get out of bed for that mate told him we charge minimum £10.00 so if she wanted them doing she’s gunna have to pay £10.00 and he looked at me like I had 2 fucking heads ..... some window cleaners haven’t got clue on what to charge this is big problem here in Liverpool when new customer phoned up and you tell them minimum price is £12.00 but I’ll have to have look before quoting up they always say my old window cleaner was only charging £5.00 I say if you want professional services there’s our the prices We charge. ....... there’s 2 many cowboys out there doing trad and wfp and something needs to be done. ..... cool 😎 video once again. 👍Liverpool

An old boy who had recently retired in my area gave me about 15 odd decent sized bungalows, he wouldn't tell me how much he charged which I found a bit odd and just told me to go round and price them up how I feel they should be priced, sills and frames were absolutely filthy on everyone so he'd literally only been cleaning the windows the whole time, most of them had conservatorys too so I priced them between 20 and 25 pounds the first clean and between 12 and 15 pounds from then on, he'd been charging £3 for those without conservatories and £5 for those with, his prices hadn't gone up in over 20 years, all but 3 of them totally got where I was coming from and were more than happy to pay, the remaing 12 initially were reluctant but saw the job I'd made of those 3 and 2 years later their all satisfied customers

If the customer wanted the inside done as well, how would you go about pricing it? Do you just double the price or just under double? I imagine the inside is more time consuming than the outside so I can see that being a reason to just double it. Tom Navarro These tiles are solid and fine to walk on. I’ve maybe broken only one in twenty years. I wouldn’t walk on slate roofs and some similar if the tiles look delicate. Also avoid if they are too steep, and some are slippery when wet. Be sensible and careful.😃👍🏼

Trad - Man That sounds more like London pricing! I live in a cheap area of the country. This job is close to town and it can be very competitive with lots of cheap window cleaners running around. Sometimes I have to give it a real hard sell, saying that I will be thorough, wipe sills, etc. Once I have the customer I make more money from the add on services.
@TradMan
@TradMan 6 лет назад
A.E.Mackintosh Cleaning Services i have that issue here also with cheap guys up to 50% less than me but now I'm one of the main WC in the area. The way i do it is ask them how long did the previous lad spend on there home, normally it's super fast so hence the normally cheap price so i say how would you like me to spend 2 to 3 times longer and make your home look better than it ever has. Normally they have had issues with the last guy so the idea of me spending longer and making it perfect sounds appealing to them despite the higher price. If they still aren't looking convinced i tell them it's like getting car car washed by some guy for 20 quid that's gone in 15 or 20 mins compared to a car valeter that will make your motor look like it came from a show room, i explain thats the difference between your last guy and me. I normally get the customer and if not it's no biggy as they obviously just want a cheap deal. 😎👍😉

I like how you priced it quickly. I assume thats just for the outs. In New Zealand 95% of my houses are out and in, so i would want to see it to see whats in front of the windows, otherwise I'll explain that its just an estimate. I would charge $60 nz (£30), outs only to incl 10kms of travel + more if its out further. Or $100 (£50) if it's in and out + more if i have to remove and reset things on the sills or in front of windows inside and covering paperwork etc. I built my window cleaning business mostly by referrals while i worked for someone else. So they're really happy to pay whatever i say so they can get the detailed results their friends got, so i benefit from all the jo average window cleaners that went before me. But carpet cleaners here still charge 4 times as much for the same time spent if it includes some stain removal.
