Hi James, a girl from out of town came to visit me and I accidentally popped her mirror off trying to adjust it. I felt really bad and I could tell she was pissed at me, almost ruined the whole weekend. I found your video and assured her it was an easy fix, and fixed it in no time at all. Thank you so much for making this video and demonstrating how easy it really is. Saved my weekend, and saved me a chunk of money on repairs.
Thank you so much for doing this video, absolute life saver in hire car where mirror fell off, weird your windscreen is cracked in same place as mine when mirror $h1t itself
Hi. I have a question. The part that the mirror interlocks into…that is on the wind shield glass what is the name of that part? I have EVERYTHING but that part. I took a picture of your video showing the part but google won’t recognize it. Also that last piece/part that you put on. Thanks in advance.
I'd like to know where the framed rear view mirror came from, as I've got one of the notorious 'falling off in cold weather' frameless glass ones. Having just done the reverse of your video, as in pulling the plastic bits and taking the mirror stem off, seems like I'm about to order an aftermarket self adhesive frameless glass, since I can't think of a neat way of gluing my original mirror glass back on, and in any case the silvering is damaged around the edges. Volvo will outsource their mirrors from elsewhere, but the frameless glass interior mirrors are certainly a sub standard part.
I've got a V40 and can get it on, hear it click into place, but breathe near it and it just pops back off again. Can't even adjust it properly. Why couldn't they just use a normal system?
I managed to completely knock the mirror off while trying to lean across to unlatch the bonnet. Spent 5 minutes trying to push it back on, had it back on in one minute after watching the video. Maith an fear
