If you wouldn't mind i would greatly appreciate a subscribe. RU-vid took away my monitization until i can get 1000 subscribers. Would greatly appreciate it! Thanks for watching.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. YOUR VIDEO WAS THE ONLY ONE I WATCHED THAT SHOWED HOW TO DO IT RIGHT. THE LAST STEP OF REMOVING THE TWINE FROM THE HOLDERS, THAT WAS WHY I COULD NOT GET IT TO AUTO FEED. THANK YOU
Hey great vid. Another way is to do the following 1.cut one piece of line 2.place both ends of line in holes 3.wrap around spool 4.place lines in 2.0 or 2.4 5.cut line creating two lines
Thanks, I just bought a very nice unit second-hand and experimented with loading line. This video shows a couple tricks I didn't know. I have seen others suggest keeping your stock of trimmer line in water. I have a larger Stihl trimmer that I have the three blade head for. It was suggested to keep the replacement blades in water, so that makes sense on the line.
I know this is 7 yrs old.. since then each MFG has made this process much much easier. I will suggest if you, like me, still have one of these units, prepare a cpl of 1" pieces of duct tape, especially if you have purchased a smaller Dia. line. Once you have finished your first wrap and clip into the retention slot...Tape that line down. don't count on that retention clip to hold that line like you'd think.... Don't ask me how I know
I had same problem with the line. My Stihl dealer suggested installing .095 line. Of course because it is thicker it will use a shorter length, but It is stronger and will last longer than the .080.
I just replaced mine. the string would NOT advance. I think your video might have solved my problem, string is probably still in the holding tabs ! Thanks
This unit is not meant to be disassembled to rewind , LOL.....I would suggest you take a few minutes to read the owners manual . The rewind process should take about 2 minutes . Just line up arrows and push fresh line into the holes and turn the bottom piece cc wise and your done .
Robt Smith FYI you have to disassemble auto cut 5-2 head to put line on. m.stihlusa.com/WebContent/CMSFileLibrary/InstructionManuals/STIHL-FS-38-Owners-Instruction-Manual.pdf page 17
There's different spool heads. Some are like what you're saying and some are like what's in this video. I have the one like in this video and it doesn't have arrows on it.
