I have glaucoma in both eyes and I'm on four eye drops to control the pressure. I currently see a glaucoma specialist to monitor my pressures and optic nerve.
Both are fine, I prefer the Zeiss as one can check that software properly identified BM opening and the pRNFL are properly centered, While in Optivue you are totally dependent on the operator. I fine the top is the Heidelberg Specteralis with the glaucoma module , the problem is the price is higher that the other two.
Mr. Adel Glaucoma suspect because of borderline reading for the superior quadrant left eye and abnormal focal loss volume (flv%). What are the chances of glaucoma in this case ? Could it be mistaken for another disease ? Hyperopia both eyes
Other factors are to be considered, family history of glaucoma, configuration of angle, disc appearance on slit lamp, field of vision and other risk factors before diagnosis of glaucoma. Also for OCT itself , changes can be caused by other than glaucoma. If all these is not conclusive , repeat OCT after 6 months looking for further deterioration, before diagnosis of glaucoma is considered.
Sir, I am having diurnal pressure Like...., 9am-22, 24 11am-23, 25 12pm-21, 21 2pm-14, 18..am going review at every 3 months... Is this any problem sir.
Usually IOP diurnal fluctuation in range of 3-5 mm. when it is more that 8 mmHg it is suspicious. so your doctor is keeping close follow up with examination and asking for investigations if needed.
@@ezhilvijay8254 cup area varies with size of disc. Eye with large disc can have 0.63 CD ratio. No need to worry, We have a lot of way to check including examination , OCT, field of vision. I am sure your doctor is doing all needed to be done
no way to be sure of diagnosis depending on one investigation only. consult your doctor. He needs history, examination, and OCT and field of vision to reach a diagnosis.
@@adelabdelshafik thank you so much sir, recently I have visited an eye hospital for eye checkup regarding the floaters. I am a myopic patient having -2.00 right and -1.75 left. I was told after oct test that you have early glaucoma, I was shocked to hear that since I am just 23 and never had any family history of glaucoma. they given m'e eye pressure medicine too. I am not using it currently I want it to be confirmed by another doc too. That's why I asked you that if you could see my prescription interpret my oct. It would be helpful sir.
@@Learner-lq3vu no way to be sure of a diagnosis using OCT only. 25-33% of normal persons or those with small myopia if less than 4 D may show changes similar to those of glaucoma. so if you want to be sure you can consult another dr whole will have all data needed.

No, not at all. it only means that this sector has a value that is found in 1% of the normal registered in the software. Red sectors can be found in 20-30% of normal people with myopia of up to 4 D. Diagnosis of glaucoma depends on many

Yes it may occur. We consider many factors in the OCT printout evaluating quality of image and many artifacts that my encountered. Again we do not take OCT results alone but include other things in examination and other investigations . Let your doctor decide.
Sir' if visual field is normal and Iop falls between 18 to 21 is this patient needs treatment and sir can rfnl thickness increase or show varation in oct tests
@@irfan4954 If there is other risk factors like +ve family history, angle is narrow, or more pigmented , or configure may point to pigment dispersion syndrome. If optic disc examination is suspicious, measuring IOP several times over the day,,, and many other factors may direct the doctor to wait and follow up, start treatment, or classify the condition as normal.
