I was watching this video to attempt to figure out the season my bag was made in just from the serial number (picked up from Fashionphile) but then I watched until the end and the bag I purchased was actually right on the website so now I know it was from March/April of 2021.

Wow..very comprehensive Chanel lesson 😂 The mini flap top handle is 21S, so it means the production is April to June? i hope to get my hands on that and hope they are still more in production. Btw, am i correct to say that the serial number inside the handbag should correspond with the Serial number on the authenticity card? Thanks for sharing.

Not production date, release date is when they're available for sale and it varies widely by country and even city. And serial code should always match the bag and card.

Hello. Can someone pls help. Lol. I’m in the market for a preloved Chanel. The only thing is idk what circa 2010s means but I’ve noticed the leather on it is a bit shinier than one from 2012. Also the gold looks a little bolder than the 2012 one. Can some one pls tell me if there were difference within the leather and hardware during those years. They are both caviar btw. Serial numbers are unique identifiers so it can never be the same even for the same bag.

This is such a great video. Tarina Monty did this back in November very informative One question she didn’t answer Amy I wonder if you could can you almost tell what collections will have specific colors. Like if you are looking for a green or red etc.

The colors are usually dictated by color trends in the fashion industry. Some sites will try to predict and you can google that easily nowadays. The Pantone Color Institute revealed in December that Illuminating - a bright yellow hue - and Ultimate Gray are its 2021 Colors of the Year, with both synchronously representing unity, stability and hope.

The current metal plate serial system is different from the old authentication card system. The microchip that stores all the authentication data on the bag is embedded inside this metal plate using NFC and blockchain technology. Only your Chanel boutique has the proprietary machines to scan the microchip data.

There is an REV on the tag listed, does that mean they will be released again this year? Hoping to find at retail and not pay the huge resale market price?

If there is a REV on the tag, it means it is a permanent style so it will be made on a continuous basis.

It's actually very hard to authenticate based codes and serial numbers because those are easily replicated by super fakes. At the end of the day, you need to seek professional authenticators for that. The style codes are only useful to know which collections they belonged to.
