This is very helpful. Back in school, I learned a bit about music but didn't play any instrument, so I quickly forgot all about it. What helps me most from this video is how simple you explain the notes and also immediately play them. You don't linger on the same note for too long but instead move on to the next one. Thanks for making this video, I'll be checking out more of them! :D
I've been practicing my guitar for about 2 years now and the one things that I've always struggled with was reading music. This video taught me a lot. Thanks
i learned more in 15 minutes than my entire high school career. thank you so much. when i drop my first mixtape im going to tell evryone about this video
Great lesson! One issue to consider with clapping the rhythm with rests is that unless you already understand what is happening, you may miss the fact that a note sustains for the time duration until the sustaining sound stops for the duration of the rest.
Can you guys do a deep down version of this with actual sheet music he is sight reading, to see how he does it for guitar and his approach because I can read sheet music I just need some approaches to sight reading
Nice to know....reading music for guitar is something I found from a very good Classical player years ago while overseas serving....he was amazing he pulled out a sheet of music with about 10 thousand notes on it and showed us bar by bar what the notes were and where on his guitar they were...then played us bar by bar what a talent not just reading the notes but playing them all as written ten fingers that knew where they belonged.......
