Thank you sir , I’m not a mechanic but I had a 1986 Toyota pickup dually with the 4 cylinder 22re engine and now I own another 1986 Toyota motor home and 1987 Toyota dually flatbed with the same type of engine and I watched several videos trying to figure how exactly that opening relay and air flow sensor works and you have made very clear in this class ,this is just a hobby for me but it feels really good to know.

I love these lectures because I can poke a wire and take readings all day long. The technical explanation really does it for me. Theory of operation explained with a wiring diagram is totally awesome. I would love to see more of this content. Scanner Danner is still the greatest technical instructor on the web.

SD you do a great service helping others. I think you have definitely nailed down your calling. Taking your passion and using it as a tool to help others. It took you no telling how many decades to learn and understand the knowledge you have and probably the hardest part was finding a way to relate all of your knowledge to thousands if not millions of people.

It was for its time. The weird part is toyota carried that circuit opening relay design way past the VAF sensor life. Instead of the switch in the VAF, the ECM controlled that leg. No prime on those systems either from memory.

one of the hardest things for a beginner is knowing where to break a diagram into smaller chunks to keep from getting confused. old cars no problems. these new things are a mess. i wish the manufacturers would break it down by module but few do

First, you take in the information; then, you learn the professors "methodology", then things get loud because the class is able to anticipate the answer.

Nice! Do you happen to know why in a Toyota VAF the resistor changes in a wave pattern in relation of the vane position?
@ScannerDanner
@ScannerDanner Год назад
You're talking about the door position? It's a potentiometer just like a throttle position sensor
@fir3w4lk3r
@fir3w4lk3r Год назад
A Toyota service manual I own says about testing the VAF:"HINT: Resistance between terminals E2 and Vs will change in a wave pattern as the measuring plate slowly opens." An measurements confirms it.
@ScannerDanner
@ScannerDanner Год назад
@firewalker resistance testing a potentiometer will show changes as you move the door. Not sure what you're asking me? Sorry

Can you do a video on where to find Accurate diagrams for the Coach-built junk I work on for a living 😂. If all I had to do was read them it would be absolute bliss. When they are consistently wrong or just don’t exist, it forces you to attack problems in non traditional ways. Super frustrating.
