I've been using Magcloud since 2008, mostly for standard format magazines, and have just finished issue 50 of a bi-monthly one. I've also done digests too, and square ones, and the quality is always great. Delivery is fast, even to the UK.

Really love your outlook on photography. I really hope photography gets back to its roots of print. If it doesn't, at least we can stand out from the crowd.

You are opening a new world to me , and it's much more satisfying than the sparkling social media world.

Well I'm sold

I am 57 and I don’t shoot the way I used to. Way back in my 20’s I remember getting portfolio advice from PDN magazine mentioning a number of rules such as to choose landscape or portrait mode and never combine both into portfolio.

I know this is an old video but something said struck a chord. In 1997, my wife and I bought a vacation home in the Florida Panhandle. Soon afterwards, I approached her with an idea - let's quit our jobs and move to the beach permanently. She found work with different businesses for a few years before she landed her dream job as a newspaper reporter. I wanted to make a living as a full time photographer. Initially, I did some portraiture but decided I really wanted to be a newspaper photographer. I started freelancing from a fledgling weekly newspaper where I went from a freelancer to the paper's contract photographer to their only staff photographer over a 10-year period before the 2008 recession and the internet killed the print business. Today, I am retired and shoot for myself. Would love to figure out where to go from here and have been listening to many of your youtube videos.

Are Magcloud publications available in the UK? Looking at the website seems to suggest it's all in the US and I guess postage to UK could prove costly.
