Very well detailed video. Really always learning stuff. Started doing powder coat for my own and few friends are starting to ask me to do stuff for them. Still in the learning process and getting lot info in your videos

Another great video! I do have a question. I don't recall you ever taking about using a de-greaser, acetone, MEK or paint prep. If you have discussed this in a video I apologize in advance. Would I be correct in assuming you rely on the Chemical stripper, out gassing and blasting to take care of any grease or oils on your rims? Thanks!

Yeah I use acetone or alcohol in some cases but the methylene chloride works well to degrease anything at all.

Areas you don't typically want powder. Adding powder there increases the risk of the wheel "wobbling" as a result.

Again, great content. Can you tell me why you replace the blast cabinet glass instead of using the clear plastic lens protectors? I think i know because i hooked my pressure pot blaster up to my blast cabinet like you did and just from the power of the pot blaster, it pretty much made my lens protector trash after just a few minute of use. Since then i have installed a regulator on the pot to adjust the air pressure and it did help to prolong the life of the lens protector. Just curious. Keep up the good work!

Glass is cheap. The plastic screens are fine but when you replace you gotta fully clean the glass and stuff. Glass is cheap. 9 bucks a sheet

Awesome video! Prolly a dumb question but when do you know a wheel is aluminum or it’s chrome and can’t be put in the stripper? Like how can you tell the difference that it’s not just a chrome look finish from factory such as a chrome powder coat.. idk if I make sense

I can just look at it and know what it is. I dont know if there is a reasonable way to like test it.

Great videos. I’ve been powder coating for a few years just for myself and friends. I’ve only charged them for the powder. I just bought a set of used satin black HRE wheels and one lip has some rash. I thought you might know what color they use so I can match it. Thanks in advance.

Don’t really want to spend $800 on a barrel of paint strip. Is there a way to be able to strip my first couple sets of wheels a little cheaper? And how many wheels can a big drum strip?

very informative thanks, i have some old 3pc iforged wheels that im thinking about rebuilding, during the rebuild and re assembly is it possible to easily change the offset of the wheel say from +35 to 0 ? What changing the with of the wheel say from 19x9.5 to 19x10 or 19x10x11 ? Is that buy just changing the outer lip only ?

well yes you can change the offset by changing the lip, thus only changing one piece, but it works in steps, around 12.5mm variation as you go in 1/2 inch increments.

@@UnknownCoatings thanks for the info, my 19" 3 pc wheels originally came with a reverse lip but i want a step lip now, i was told that is not possible without changing the barrel, also adds 1” to the wheel .. is this true ?

I’m looking to upgrade my blast cabinet and I see u have a Skat Blaster. What model do you have and do you feel it has enough room while your working in it or do you wish you got a bigger one? Model number will give me some place to start.
