THE best video I've seen that COVERS IT ALL! The resolution a slightly fuzzy but the sound quality is good, the closeups are exceptional ( hate the overhead cams) and you cover the detailed items that are glossed over by others. Really great educational video. YOu may want to rename it though ...it's really a complete tear down and rebuild rather than dealing with fan. When you assembled it though did you small bearing fit snugly to the top of the case.? Mine didn't and I was afraid of pushing it.
They're not all easy enough to do at home. Not only is Nissan notorious for failures, but even worse for parts availability and negative proliferation. (the parts that will interchange with each other) We don't want to sell something that people will have trouble with, and not succeed with the rebuild.
The alt is a Denso TN104210-2650/ 2011 Camry 2.5l 4 cyl. I tore it down again and scraped some paint off around the bolting holes and grounding screw in center and checked for continuity on both sides for together and separately to parts of engine. Good tone so I *think* it's ok but what about adding another grounding strap to the other side.
Wire wheel and white lithium grease the fasteners (that hold the halves together) particularly the threads and under side of the socket head where aluminum is contact path. Also wire wheel aluminum back plate where bolt head cuts in.
@@rebuilderinabox Hey MIke: I also lightly greased every surface I could except for the slip rings. Could this be the cause of my problem? Maybe I need to give it a wash?

Hey Mike....I painted my alternator and wondered if there needs to be conductivity between the 2 halves. I see the grounding bolt is on one side but the 3 grounding screws you mention are on the other side. So if there is continuity between the two halves can one assume the grounding property is also shared between the 2 halves. I made sure to rub the paint of the one main grounding bolt and on the contact side where the alternator mounts to the engine. Did I miss anything for a good ground?
I didn't see it on your site but do you guys have kits/parts for the pontiac vibe (matrix, corolla) denso alternators, the rectifier looks identical to the 2009 vibe alternator, the v-regulator is different though has 4 - pin and one leg has to be soldered in. thanks
