Wow that man using the oxy has some serious skills. Keeping a molten puddle of aluminium and not having it spill out every where takes years of practice. Very impressive. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
I note how he checks the quality of his badly oxidised weak weld by X-ray after finishing the machining. Bondo and paint make him the welder he aint. And the man on the lathe does his centering by eye. Here in darkest Africa we use micrometers and Tig welding
Okay, that is some impressive can do workmanship there. I have welded aluminum with a torch and I know how difficult that is. The lathe work was good too. I get it, you are making due with what you have. Well done.
That rod they are using to weld to the rim is actually a type of pot metal. Very soft and easy to melt. Aluminum takes a LOT more heat to melt and does not flow that way. I would hate to have one of these wheels on a vehicle I'm driving. That stuff is easy to break. But they use what they have. Hats off to them.
Fascinating. The skill is over the top. Meanwhile, I work near a scrap yard that has mountains of pallets full of rims that are being sent for recycling. These are wheels that come off of cars that are being scrapped. The world is a big place with ends that would not recognize each other.
It's all about cost effectiveness. The reason they bin it it's because it costs less to buy a new one than to pay someone labor to repair it. And liability.
@@rd-ch1on Is it so much worse than the original rim? That's also just aluminium melted and silidified. And when a rim fails it rately costs a life. Traffic safety is starting to get to a point where it takes An increasing amount of frustration, just to save a decreasing amount of lives. Maybe. That trend really needs to be stopped.
@@rd-ch1on If it did cost some lives when the rim originally broke, the damage to the rim would have been worse than what we saw. Plus, I believe that with the kind of skills these people have, I'm sure that they know the limitations of their work in relation to relative safety. Besides, if we really think about it, comparing what these people do to make do of what they have that is essential to their lives, to what the western people do for fun like bungee jumping, para-gliding, swimming with sharks, and other dangerous sports, I would choose these dudes.
Question: "Is Jesus the only way to Heaven?" Answer: Yes, Jesus is the only way to heaven. Such an exclusive statement may confuse, surprise, or even offend, but it is true nonetheless. The Bible teaches that there is no other way to salvation than through Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” He is not a way, as in one of many; He is the way, as in the one and only. No one, regardless of reputation, achievement, special knowledge, or personal holiness, can come to God the Father except through Jesus. Jesus is the only way to heaven for several reasons. Jesus was “chosen by God” to be the Savior (1 Peter 2:4). Jesus is the only One to have come down from heaven and returned there (John 3:13). He is the only person to have lived a perfect human life (Hebrews 4:15). He is the only sacrifice for sin (1 John 2:2; Hebrews 10:26). He alone fulfilled the Law and the Prophets (Matthew 5:17). He is the only man to have conquered death forever (Hebrews 2:14-15). He is the only Mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). He is the only man whom God has “exalted . . . to the highest place” (Philippians 2:9). Jesus spoke of Himself as the only way to heaven in several places besides John 14:6. He presented Himself as the object of faith in Matthew 7:21-27. He said His words are life (John 6:63). He promised that those who believe in Him will have eternal life (John 3:14-15). He is the gate of the sheep (John 10:7); the bread of life (John 6:35); and the resurrection (John 11:25). No one else can rightly claim those titles. The apostles’ preaching focused on the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Peter, speaking to the Sanhedrin, clearly proclaimed Jesus as the only way to heaven: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Paul, speaking to the synagogue in Antioch, singled out Jesus as the Savior: “I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin” (Acts 13:38-39). John, writing to the church at large, specifies the name of Christ as the basis of our forgiveness: “I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name” (1 John 2:12). No one but Jesus can forgive sin. Eternal life in heaven is made possible only through Christ. Jesus prayed, “Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17:3). To receive God’s free gift of salvation, we must look to Jesus and Jesus alone. We must trust in Jesus’ death on the cross as our payment for sin and in His resurrection. “This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe” (Romans 3:22). At one point in Jesus’ ministry, many of the crowd were turning their backs on Him and leaving in hopes of finding another savior. Jesus asked the Twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” (John 6:67, ESV). Peter’s reply is exactly right: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God” (John 6:68-69, ESV). May we all share Peter’s faith that eternal life resides only in Jesus Christ.
He has literally zero safety gear. Even the solution to the filler getting too hot to hold was to just attach another bar of filler. Imagine if he had proper gear.
да всё равно краска с баллончика долго не продержится, главное успеть втюхать этот диск кому нибудь. а клиент его поставит на убитое авто и продаст нам россию по цене нормальной бу машины)
The repair looks visually good but I don't know about the strength. The heat from the brazing may change the properties of the original material and may form weak points. At high speed, the repaired portion may fail and cause an accident. Personally if I have such damage, better to dispose and buy another one. Safety more important than money.
But the solder used is not as strong as the aluminum alloy metal, hence that repaired area, although it does look good, is prone to catastrophic failure.
I agree with the comment that the whole wheel could be put in a heat treatment oven to even out the metal stresses, but I suspect that the reason that repairs like this are illegal in most of the Western World is that we have let "experts" loose at this sort of thing, and their only response is to have recourse to metal science. I just bet there is no "science" available with testing of this sort of repair, so they just make it illegal. Wonder what "science" is available with testing of freshly made wheels, or do we just rely on the manufacturer to get is right at source. Then again the manufacturer has no incentive to cooperate with anyone to test a repaired rim. Game over. Anyway, super impressed with the skill of these workers.
Iwas looking to repair my rim here the Philippines but no one knows not one rim repair shop available in the Philippines.I wish somebody what these man did to repair a rim
Excellent work, those people have a good hands skills too, like not any one can do that even he has all the tools torsh, machine grinding and rechapping we see. Like me i am a good car repair mechanic, (find the part to replace it and replace it whereas mexhanical, electronic, or electric parts) but body work, no, i try to repair a rusted two inch on the car body but i couldnt do it right like it was before, but peole like those can do body work like and turn the damaged parts of your like it was never there before.
Well if you were in a third world country and you needed a wheel I can assure you it would be just fine. Remember you are speaking from a first world point of view.
@@poppajretired410 apparently you’ve never been to a third world country there is very little money and yes it will probably break again but if you’re broke down with very little money I can guarantee you will buy the wheel and thank god you got it. Damn man you ever been anywhere besides America
The way he hammers that thing shows it will last. Pity he didn't clean the whole rim first. I guess he needs to keep the price/cosy down for his market
Hopefully, he brazed it with the same alloy that was used to make the wheel, and stress relieved it before machining... or may be the almighty bestow some grace on the unsuspecting buyer. I wouldn't advise this.
