Cheers, that was very helpful! This is the first thing I've broken on my 2 week old Traxxas so far (not counting the stock gears which I've already stripped and replaced with hardened steel versions) - I'm liking how easy it is to tear this thing down and replace stuff.
Yeah I feel like I drive mine way to easy. I do jumps and have tore up some gears & arms, but never bent the shock shaft....lol Thanks for the vid, always easy for folks like me to understand.
Question - just got my used 8s. 3/4 shocks have a lot of give for the first 1/2" then the resistance of the oil comes. Does this likely mean my fluid is low? Also, if im running on the sand is there risk of sand getting into the oil area? Where should i position the collar for sand running? Thanks!
Hi there. That feeling most likely means air in the shock. Time for a good rebuild. No risk of sand getting inside the shock...but it will get EVERYWHERE else. There is no "right" location for your shock collar based on where you are driving. Just play with it until you are happy.
