I took music class in high school. My music professor told me that no one has bad voice! We all have beautiful voice. You have to learn and practice! Most of the reciters learn and practice! Learn tajweed and practice! Listen to your beloved reciters and you have the gift of beautiful voice! I have a deep voice and when I copy a good reciter, people told me that I have a beautiful voice!!!!
Alhamdhulilah.. s'umma Alhamdhulilah.. and JazakAllah khair.. oh brother.. u r an amazing teacher.. i love you for the sake of Allah.. i got upgraded from you videos..
interesting, thanks for sharing! this point actually relates to another video we did as well regarding eating in moderation ... many Qurra also skip meals before reciting, because being stuffed up with food limits your ability to breathe nice and deep, and therefore limits projection as well.
You're so right, Ustaz. I often am able to recite better during fajr when my stomach empty but during the day it's not same voice. I always wondered what caused the difference. Now I got. Alhamdulillah. Jazakallah khayran
Al hamdolillah, iam reciter and Allah has given me this voice without any practice or learning from.any school and alhamdollilallah i recite quran e kareem on stage on various occasions .........
This morning while reciting from the Mushaf, I found (as is often the case) that my voice sounded weak and quivery. So, decided to search youtube for voice warm ups specifically for Qur'anic recitation and found your video. Jazak Allahu khairan for it. As for me, the older I get the more I find my voice needs to be gently awakened-- if that makes sense. Your suggestion that one should learn to use the diaphragm for voice control as opposed to the chest is a very good one. My voice feels stronger when I do this. Also, I have learned (sadly) from experience that any extreme over use of the voice can injure it-- both yelling and whispering. This is a perfect example of why we should take the middle course in all things as suggested by our beloved Rasulullah. I'd advise everyone who loves reciting Qur'an to take good care of his/her voice while young.
I think you explained the concept very well! I think an interesting fact is that the Greeks used to fast before they acted in their plays and tragedies (certainly without microphones!) in order to clear their bodies before performing. Interesting!
Esselamu aleykum brother. I have one qustion for you please tell me. Why my voice when i am not eating nothing is very bad is like vibratening. But when i eat something is good but not perfect for recitening. And why when i reading quran without microfone is bad. But when i read with it is perfect. Jazzakallahu khar. (sory about my english)
Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh Pls help me ...I wanna join qari overnight course ....how can I do it ...pls guide ....I am a Quran memorizing student....hope u ll respond in sha Allah
Salaam I have a question regarding projection and what you said about the Mic ... when I recite i can recite well, clearly and in tune without a Mic but the minute I have to recite something on a Mic my tune messes up and I just find it hard to hear myself. the resonance in my builds up too much and to me my voice changes. The pitch sounds all different to me and I cant sing my high notes correctly enough ... but that only happens when I use a Mic ... any tips on why that happens and what I could do to improve
Salaam what is the context? are you just recording into a mic attached to your computer? or is this in a live event situation where the mic is amplifying and adding effects to the sound?
ok yeah I thought so. Part of it could be the added effects, but with an on-stage recitation, the biggest cause could be the way the speakers are oriented - they're normally set up to maximize the sound for the audience. There's a term to describe this but I forget what it is. Basically what you hear internally is slightly different what you hear externally, and it ends up messing you up. There's a name for this - maybe you can google it. The solution in a performance setting is that there needs to be a small speaker pointed back to where the reciter is positioned. Or in a room where the sound fills more evenly, this shouldn't be an issue.
just listen to them everyday and recite along with them, your mind will capture the voice and after sometime you will feel you recite like them, but it takes long time.
@Usama Khan I guess its allowed... Because you are doing so with a good intention, because everything that we do depends on the intention of the person.
also is it normal for my head to hurt a lot when I'm reciting ... sometimes when I recite something powerful/intense it feels like my veins are about to pop out of my head ... should that happen ??
no, not in my opinion. I'm a big fan of keeping things simple and relaxed. No doubt when the Quran is recited with passion and from the heart, there will be some physical manifestation of this as well. But in my personal opinion, not in the way you described. I would much prefer that my heart bursts into tears rather than get a headache from holding my breath and straining too much.
+ReciteinTune of course Quran is the kalaam of Allah it should definitely come from the heart ... what I meant was that sometimes when I recite too loudly or I seem to tend to allow pressure build up which causes pain in my head how do I reduce pressure whilst reciting
there's some tension somewhere, you just need to be conscious of it and relax. The most common thing is that you might be trying too hard to hold in your breath, which will create a lot of tension. For sound to come out it needs to float on a bed of air, but when people try to hold in their breath, they need to almost force the sound out - it creates a lot of that resistance and pressure as you mention. Also while you're holding in your breath, you might be tightening all of your neck muscles - this just adds to it. Not a pretty sight imho
+ReciteinTune jazakallah that's sound right tbh insha'Allah will work towards it thank you for the fast response and help Allah bless you and your channel 👍 Ramadan Kareem
