Nice! I have one of these on an 8k at 1.4 ohms. Takes it with ease as long as you dont clip it.

Did you ever get a recone that was built wrong? I just did. I ordered an Onyx d1 recone from Resilient Sounds and it arrived defective with a crooked coil. They have a ring on the spider with bolt holes already in it so i dont think it even needs shims. The coil gap is set by that ring thats pre glued to the spider. Im so glad i dry fitted it 1st. The coil was tilted by a bit over ¼" i measured it. I messaged them about it. I hope they exchange it. If not, i wasted $180.

I would recommend people to use a few sheets of printer paper, not cardboard. the first time I did a recone, I used cereal box cardboard and a chunk tore off at the corner and trashed my new cone. I didn't catch it. but I had to use vice grips to get the shims out anyways. wouldn't recommend cardboard.

I m from Luxemburg, I bought 2 sundowns X-18 v.3. I want to buy some recones but somehow there is no way to get them in Europe. I tried to contact sundown directly but they never responded to me... And from where I got the subs, they don't have them. Maybe someone here can help me.😓
