Average quality. No goldcorner BGA or Ram chips.
Sorry for the poor phonecamera fotage in the start. I hope you enjoy :)

Thanks for the great video!!! I love seeing every level of recovery context on here as well as the different techniques people use that i can learn from and apply myself!! I do however very highly recommend that you do a couple more steps to get a much bigger recovery of your gold etc. 1: make sure to crush everything down to pass through a fine sieve , even finer is good too, allowing the legs to separate from the bonding wires. If the material doesn’t want to crush, incinerate them again until the material does crush, leaving only the legs behind. Save those for a larger batch to process one day. Of course it’s still a good idea to use a magnet to separate anything that did pass the sieve to make it easier when doing your preferred gravity separation method. 2: you HAVE to make sure to add detergent to your water when rinsing the IC chips. I guarantee you are loosing bonding wires due to them not breaking the surface tension. Glad you’re keeping the rinsed off materials at least, but you can get away with tossing it once you know you e broke tension, and to be safe, use a bucket or tall beaker to rinse the majority of the carbon off before switching to panning (or better yet a mini sluice!)

Liked the video but why no audio on the liquid in the blue bottle you used, what was the liquid in the black bucket, and the liquid in the measuring bowl? I'm new to this myself and would appreciate the chemical info on what you use!

@johannesthe5th154 Год назад
Hello James 👋 The blue liquid is just a dish washer deterrent. It removes the surface tension of the water so that everything sinks to the bottom much easier. The other liquids is plane tap water

The proces of collecting, separating all of the chips from the different types of boards and recycle everything in the right places is the biggest time consuming thing in this hobby.. the recovery and the refining doesn’t take that long in contrast.. I’m definitely not insulted by your comment. I’m just answering from how I see it. Feel free, if you have more suggestions or if there’s any criticism. I’m not trying to insult as well. There’s no need for apologies ☺️

What do you do with the big bits that can’t get through the mesh ( I’m doing it now so what colour should the ash be because mines black.(it was in fire ) Also I have what looks like the ic chip without the black ceramic should I carry on grinding it down or not.
@johannesthe5th154

I’m Saving everything and then burning it again in future batches. It’s difficult to get everything in first try. Ceramic chips should not be included in this. They require another process

Im not sure there’s a commercial grinder for that exact purpose.. But. Certain gold ore crushers would do the job like a ball mill or chain mill. Omegageek64 or Mbmmllc on RU-vid uses the equipment above. You should check them out. They would have more answers than me 😊

Hi, your process is quite neat. And the result is on point for average quality ICs. However can we use Ram chips for the same? Whether DDR or DDR 2,3? As they all got gold wires within them. Since the vid wasnt complete, please clear this out. All that golden on your pan is gold? Or only the section where much of the finer particles were pushed to a corner is useful. Please share knowledge. Thanks. God bless!
@johannesthe5th154
@johannesthe5th154 Год назад
Hello jubran 👋 You’re right. I didn’t show the whole process. To get the chips crushed up properly, I use a larger cast iron mortar to grind it up to release the fine wire from the plastic. All golden stuff in the pan IS gold, but it looks like there is more than there actually is. After refining and melt. That is where you see the actual result. Almost All RAM chips has gold bond wire inside. And yes. It’s the same process. Although I don’t mis BGA chips with the side legged RAM. BGA has almost no base metals inside. So they are very easy to crush and separate the gold from the silicon glas and plastic. I usually get 1,1 gram of gold pr 1kg of mixed side legged RAM chips Around 2,3 gram of gold pr. Kg of BGA ram Chips Around 10 gram of gold pr. Kg of Goldcornered BGA chips. Also I soak everything in HCL for months to remove most Tin and other undesirablemetals. This step is not a must, but it makes everything so much easier
@jibrannajam6579
@jibrannajam6579 Год назад
@@johannesthe5th154 thanks for your reply. Very well, but it does look like one heck of a job getting all the very fine and light materials to churn out from this alone and you had a lot more to go on after that. I presume you must have used AR to further refine it down to get purity, why did you not opt to go for that directly insead of panning it out? Would have saved you time and effort.
@johannesthe5th154
@johannesthe5th154 Год назад
@@jibrannajam6579 Nitric acid is not legal in my country for private use so I use a mixture of HCL and chlorine/peroxide. It’s far more safe, fast and easier to refine after separating the precious metal from all the rest of the material when using the oxidation chemicals mentioned above. Although this way requires the material to be grinded vey fine.
@jibrannajam6579
@jibrannajam6579 Год назад
@@johannesthe5th154 ah yes, ive used HCL and Homemade bleach to refine my gold dust. Although this may work well for the solid nano particles, would it be convenient to use this method on the wires as well? Do they dissolve?
@johannesthe5th154
@johannesthe5th154 Год назад
@@jibrannajam6579 it will. With 10% hydrogen peroxide, enough heat and steady feed. It will desolve. But AR would be more convenient I guess.

What was added to the water
@johannesthe5th154
@johannesthe5th154 Год назад
A dishwater detergent to break the surface tension of the water. It helps so everything falls straight to the bottom. Otherwise gold can actually float away when pouring the water out. All kinds of “soaps” can be used, but the upside of using dishwater detergents is that it doesn’t create many bobbles

Where do you get those grinders?
@johannesthe5th154
@johannesthe5th154 8 месяцев назад
Second hand shops, fleemarkets ect. Its just a blender. Smoothie machines works just fine as well. I also have a coffe grinder that makes the material extra fine. They won’t last very long so buying it new seems wasteful
