I have two. They are jewels, amazing really. Though in California no power limit, I still like them around 12-14fpe for my style of pesting and hunting. The little gem is advertised in states as a beginner's pcp airgun. Far from the truth! The S200AA is an amazing hunter! In the right hands... Take care.

Yup, people often see the S200 as a junior or beginners rifle... That is far from the truth indeed. I may be compact but the S200 is a super versatile, accurate and high qualitly air gun. I will never sell mine, it gets more use than my S510. But the official Air Arms 10 shot magazine system is a must have add on IMO.

I love my old and battered MK1 CZ branded S200. My longest serving airgun and have owned it from new. It has the must-have 10 shot mag system and has been tuned and serviced many times over the years along with custom parts like aluminium adjustable trigger, bolt, barrel band, fill cap, and the awesome AA QTec mod. Normally comes out to the range or down onto my land whenever I go. I kid you not that my old S200 keeps up with similar small sized modern carbines like the BSA Ultra and R10 SE Super Carbine and even plenty of larger carbines and full length rifles too! Only down side is the tiny air tank and no pressure gauge..

I know what you mean. The perfect rifle, and at such a good price as well. You can buy a new fill valve with gauge and new fill adapter from quite a few places. I bought my fill guage and adapter from Alteros, but XTX air do them as well, among others. They are easy to fit, once you can unscrew the input valve. If it's never been off, you may need to put the cylinder in a vice, plus you can buy the specialist unlock tools for less than £10 from XTX air etc.

Yeah I have seen several different solutions for the pressure gauge on the 200 that look great. To me though it really doesn't matter enough to pay out for the bits. I know the amount of air I refill with from my dive bottle's gauge and know how many shots I can get from it within the power curve. Another good solution for hunters and general use when you dont want to drag a dive bottle around is to buy a 0.5ltr 250BAR "Day Tripper" bottle and kit from Best Fittings which you can siphon fill from your tank at home and then throw in your day sack and that would give you a good few fills on a S200. It's more money but as it uses quick change fittings you can use it on any PCP quickly and easily.

Yep, reference the power and the pellet. I have found that the Daystate Rangemaster sovereign are the most efficient pellet through the barrel, although the pellets were not weighed for this test, so could have shown a difference either way. I de-tuned it using the venturi screw to bring it down to no more than 11.7 ft/lbs using the Daystate pellets in the end. The rest is part of the edit. That's why it's critical to use a good chronograph after tuning a rifle, either up or down. I must admit this Air Arms is probably one of the easiest to adjust.

Mine is the opposite , it’s @ 10 ft lb and needs to be turned up probably the hammer spring screw 🤔 it’s a mk3 with the anti tamper on it so I don’t really want to take that off unless I really need to. If I adjust it to 11.50 ft lb using jsb 15.89 gr which is the only pellet weight I use. What if i.e for some unknown reason the police decided to test my rifle, would they use my pellets or some other as theirs might put it over the 12 ft lb limit resulting in ‘bang up’ for me 🥺. Any advice would be appreciated 😉

So if you was to increase the power of this particular rifle by turning that screw the other way what kind of power would it go to?

Hi there, you know it's mind boggling that I can not find a video on the trigger adjustment for a S200!!! Have done any blogs on this subject? Or know of any tutorial videos? I would certainly appreciate any help.

You are right. You would think Air Arms would have made an online PDF file for trigger adjustment. I haven't made any adjustments to my trigger because I have found it fine as it is. I have come across a diagram that shows the trigger unit and what the screws are for. Here's the link. You can blow up the picture by pressing Ctrl and the + button on your keyboard to get the picture bigger. Once you have it big enough you can press the PS button on the keyboard to print screen, then open Windows paint and click on the paste button. You can then crop it and save it as a JPeg file for referance. Here's the link: s1210.photobucket.com/user/AAOCRaj/media/Firingmechanism_zps4c5805ef.jpg.html

I thought crown courts were for crimes under common law? Surely you don't get charged with a crime, because there is no victim. It's an 'offense' against a piece of legislation, so it might be in some other type of kangeroo court with no jury

It is possession of a section 5 firearm. Its the same sentencing guidelines (12-60 months jail) as owning a shotgun or rimfire/centerfire rifle without having a FAC with the gun listed on it. If you were found with it on your person or in your car in a public place (even within a gun bag) then that would potentially add a further charge. It's no joke. UK firearms laws are tight and rightly so. If you want to own a higher power rifle then get yourself a Firearms Cert and do it legally. As long as you have no serious criminal record, have access to land or are a member of a range and/or club, have a secure gun safe then in most cases you would be granted one. Taking part in a local police approved firearms safety course would enhance your chances too. If you dont have access to large areas of land and are not a member of a club/range that allow FAC airguns and rifles then what would be the point in owning an airgun with power in excess of 12ft/lbs???

Oh come on ,stop scare people with this shity law 12 ftlb .you should make a video how to increase the power.
@JHarkness80
@JHarkness80 7 лет назад
It's not scaring people and it is NOT a joke!! it IS the law! If you were less than ~0.2ft/lbs over but only on certain heavy or high velocity pellets then you would be looking at arrest and several days in court for possession of a section 5 firearm without a FAC. It would likely stay within magistrates court if you had no previous convictions and end you up with 12-24 months probation and a 6-60 month suspended jail sentence (if you are lucky!). Go anywhere over a very small deviation WOULD go to crown court and result in some serious shit. Sentencing guidelines suggest a min of 48 months of prison time. If it were shown that you purposely modified a sub-12ft/lbs rifle to increase power in line with an FAC model then you would be looking at a serious 5 year sentence and then a lifetime of being unable to get a job due to such a serious conviction. Its no joke. If you service your own guns then you should without question own a SKAN chrono (same as the police and firearms forensics lab use) and test with a range of pellets inc heavies like a Bis Mag and light alloy ones like those idiotic Gamo ones and ensure all types stay bellow around 11.5ft/lb. On a UK range or out hunting British pests then a standard model will always be enough. People who purposely convert airguns to FAC power are a scourge on the sport. If you really feel the need to own and shoot higher powered rifiles then you should join a club and range suited for Rimfire and small caliber rifles or/and get some permission for hunting on a large piece of land, attend a local police approved firearms safety course and providing you meet the criteria and have a gun and an ammo safe securely fitted then there is no reason that your local police FAC officer would refuse you a full suitable FAC and you can go out and buy yourself something more powerfull (often for less cash than a decent non-FAC airgun)

I think that the main problem with airgun law solely lies with the authorities. Why create a law that contains variables such as the weight of pellets. No one should have to go out and buy every brand of pellet on the market just in case one of them performs more efficiently than the others and increases the muzzle energy to over 12 ft/lbs. All the Home office need to do it allocate just 1 brand of pellet (or issue their own) and this is the pellet that you chrono' your gun with. As long as it shoots below 12 ft/lb with this sole pellet then the gun is lawful. It wouldn't matter one jot if your gun was more efficient with a myriad of other pellets as the Home office/Police would only use this 1 brand of pellet to test your gun. To be honest as long as your gun is firing below the 12ft/lb mark it would make little difference if other pellets send it over the limit.

@@stefenney3126 Stop talking common sense SF, you know where air rifles are concerned the law is an ass, this mumbo jumbo over how to stick to under 12ftlb just proves it. Your suggestion is just too simple and easy for the moron law makers to understand. One nominated pellet, under 12 ftlb, the rest don't matter, just too simple to implement .
