I'm a girl and have just found your channel. I love all the information you put out. Easy to follow and very helpful in figuring out how to care for your hair. I have curly hair and workout almost everyday. So thanks for the tips. I really love your videos.
Tips: 1. Use dry shampoo before workout. 2. Make a loose high bun during workout. 3. Keep your hair in a high ball when you take a shower after workout. Use a hair cap. Use a blow dryer in cold setting to evaporate all the sweat.
@@neeshagrg4620 this vid is just an ad to sell dry shampoo. never mind. such a bullshit to fill your hair with chemistry and leave it for several days "not to damage it with normal wash".
@@ilyanizhnik6874 like if you sweat and affaird of Shampoo washing then just wash it with water, it wash all your sweat out. Why even bother using chemical to absord you sweat lmao
I just wanted to say for anyone like me that is kind of picky about inactive ingredients like butane in dry shampoo, Redkin makes a powder dry shampoo that literally takes all of those harsh chemicals out of the equation. Trav actually showed the exact one I use in this video.
Omg a RU-vidr that speaks for people that have oily scalps!! I see all these adds for dry scalp products. Finally some tips I can actually use to better my hair, tysm!
I felt so called out having left my laundry overnight, Moving it to the drier This morning and then being reminded AGAIN by this video that It has been in the drier since first thing this morning and I forgot to do my damp ironing.
Thank you!!! Now I can confirm the problem was washing it daily! You're a lifesaver Trav!! Like you've said. Genetics has a lot to do, cause my bf washes it daily and he has great, shiny, soft and strong hair! Argh! I hate it!! Lol
yt just randomly suggested the video and it's gonna save my life. Long haired bro here, washing it everyday after crossfit and this past year I lost a ton of hair because of it. Thank you!
I dont know what's more awesome...trav answering a question I have been thinking about since I started growing my hair 😁....or the fact you dropped an avatar last air bender reference 🤔🙃.....absolutely amazing
I can here to look up tips for my sweaty hair when I work out I push myself hard and my hair gets pretty soaked it’s nasty. But I got so excited when you said you lived in Austin Tx! I never knew!! I live there too that’s so awesome I’m subscribing rn
I used to be a fitness instructor who worked out 3-4 times a day. My scalp is also the first place on my head that sweats. I have thick hair and my scalp doesn’t breathe well. This was also before dry shampoo being a common thing. I would rinse my hair in the shower (no shampoo and no conditioner) . I would rinse with hotter water and then finish with colder water. Then i would blow dry the whole thing or just dry my roots and braid it. This worked for my as i do not have an oily scalp.
Hello I want to say that you have some of the best hair I've ever seen on a man. I turn 55 soon, and I'm happy and surprised that I actually can grow my hair out. so I'm paying attention to hair Care. Thanks for all you do
God bless you for this! I live in SW Arkansas, I sweat like crazy, and I work retail-running round stocking shelves, helping customers, and wellll just like a chicken with my head cut off. I’ve been trying to find out if I should rinse my curls every evening after sweating all day although I know it’s not good to wash your hair everyday. So thank you so much for answering my question!! So glad I stumbled across your channel! You have amazing hair Trav!
I'm a girl and find your videos very informative. I found your page from your dandruff video to try and help my hubby and your tips have helped improve his scalp. Also like the movie/ anime/ cartoon references that you use in your videos all the time, they always make me laugh! Thanks for this great video and P.S. your wife is so cute! :D
I also live in Texas, I have decently short to medium hair (about eye length on the top) and whenever I style my hair with clay I walk outside (its July as IM writing this) and within MINUTES my hair loses all volume and just DIES. Seriously need this video in my life 😅
I think you are by far the best RU-vid channel for long hair for men. But I do think Washing your hair twice a week is the perfect balance every 2 to 3 days
One little suggestion though, maybe you should stop assuming people have long hair, because most people don’t (feel free to correct me if otherwise). That would make your advice apply to more people. Keep up with your quality contents!
mannn you are my new og when I am first time trying to grow my dreads thanks to the quaratine lockdown only good thing it did to me was stopping me from getting my hairs chopped looking forward to more informative videos like these...
my hair is longer then yours in the video and finding your channel is such a great thing to know we have here on earth cuz like... hows a noob gonna figure this out before its too late?!
Enjoyed the video and great content on how to take care of your hair and dealing with sweat from workouts. I predominantly work out outside by walking for exercise. I have to wear a hat to protect my hair and face from the sun and wear sunscreen to protect my exposed skin. I live in Texas also. We have heat and high humidity being 40 miles from the Gulf Coast. Great bloopers and nice to meet your wife. Keep the videos coming.
Massive "A-ha!" moment for me! When you say "dont wash your hair" I thought you meant "dont wash with shampoo". Ive been struggling with dry flaking, and I didn't understand why, since I wasnt "washing my hair" often. But actually I WAS everytime I shower, I just wasnt using shampoo on it, but I was going under the water and scrubbing my head in the shower! Hmmm 🤔 Wonder if this will make a difference Thanks Trav
I’m usually dripping wet when I get out of the gym, I have long hair now and what I do is that I always have my hair in a high pony tail, I do have fine to medium hair type, so I use a wet brush after workout and that refreshes my hair then oil my ends and kids I look fresh and silky again .
Want to rock my inner Zeus hair. Short styled forever, except for a spate after the Army. It’s silver/grey hair since friggin’ high school, so I’m cool with looking different 24/7/365. But it’s thin on top now (I’m 74). Awkward pandemic length at @ 8 months. Good advice here, buddy. I’m using natural oils, washing once or twice a week (hemp shampoo and conditioner), coconut oil, hemp oil, aloe Vera .... Palm Springs desert dry almost always. Anyhow, I’m glad to be onboard. I”m ready to tell people, I’m growing it out to cover the cyborg cochlear implant on one side. Whatever, you know?
I think the best liquid for our hair is the sweat from our scalp.so if you always sweat, dont wash/shampoo.just use your sweat to style your hair after.but some people have body/sweat odor though.
Hey man, love your videos! Could you either recommend or make a video on the process of growing your hair out as a curly haired man? I can only find either “growing your hair out” videos by strait haired men, or “my routine for styling my already long curly hair” by curly haired men. I’m not finding any in between or awkward stage advice from curly haired men.
Man,it must be nice having such an easy time with straight hair. I have wavy hair and I cant touch it or it gets frizzy. Its also thinner naturally and so it breaks if I tie it up too often.
thats scalp irritation which can lead to balding. If not shampooing regular doesnt work for you then you’ll need to shampoo it regularly. Just make sure you use natural shampoo instead of commercial shampoos with cheap and harmful ingredients
@@benchabanehocine7809 he probably think, the shampoo that says natural doesn't contain any chemicals, little does he know that water itself is a chemical.
I felt so called out having left my laundry overnight, Moving it to the drier This morning and then being reminded AGAIN by this video that It has been in the drier since first thing this morning and I forgot to do my damp ironing.
hey Trav, love your content. For me specifically, I have dry scalp and coarse. curly hair, and workout in really tropical weather. Which one of the dry shampoos will you recommend for me? Cuz those mentioned are for oily scalps
Hi Trav White and Everyone. Few things before my question; Both the Avatar and Head bang references were FANTASTIC! BIG LAUGH! 🙂🙃😃Especially the Avatar🤣, have all episodes! The head bang part was great as well.. BEFORE I Get into detail. I'm not bragging nor am I trying to be prideful by any means. I have fly aways that gets in my face as I work on the roof and rough frame, drywall finish, paint interior and exterior, vehicle mechanic on my own vehicles, (mind you I do more than the average maintenance of oil change, replacing cosmetics from doors, fenders, mirrors, and engine/transmission adjustments) on my own. All these different fields/trades. How do I handle with/deal with the few to several hair strands that are not quite yet long enough to make it to the mid to low ponytail/braid I have? Looking at different hair styles to better keep my hair out of the way. But enjoy taking care of my hair. and your video with Greg on 5 different hair styles got me watching more of your videos. All great and Awesome tips. There seems to be no 1 set way for any situation mentioned; that I am realizing. Thank you for your time and help when you get to this. Wishing you and others well! Continuing to seek out for answers. 😁 Peace
I really appreciate your videos. I don't blame men shaving thier heads or having short hair. The man mane is work! But once you earned it: having draped over a solid set of shoulders/developed chest/wide back? Totally worth the effort.
I don't wash my hair more than 2x a week (and take a long shower)and now my family of 7 and I are going to vacation next year, and our hotel room has only a 1 restroom. So hoping this will be helpful for the trip🤞
Well that Avatar reference earned you a subscribe. I'm training Hung Gar which is as you may have heard the basis for Earthbending and no matter what we do, most of us sweat like crazy. So much sometimes, that when sparing we have to look out for small puddles to not fall flat on our faces .After having gotten used to short 30's style hairstyles for ten years, working out that hard with long hair has brought up exaclty those challenges. I'll try the dry shampoo routine out asap as I allready had that idea in mind since some weeks.
I live in Australia, I work out on week days, I live by the ocean and I have oily hair. I know I am not supposed to wash daily but I start to look kinda gross even after 24 hours. Dry shampoo For me at least has been a god send. That said its an every other day thing now with dry shampoo on the off days which is a massive improvement.
I do the stair master about 4x a week and that will make me sweat so much I just end up washing my hair almost everyday and I don’t want to do that especially with my blonde hair.
I have to contradict you on one tip, based on my experience, and I have hairs at the same length as yours. High bun is not viable if you do jumps, repeated jumps even worse, it just pull on the roots on every jump and unties from the elastic due to the big round mass, so I do use instead the lowest possible pony tail, may not be stylish as you, but while jump roping doesn't pull on the roots, neither unties. These might be just my two cents, but it works
Hey Trav, absolutely enjoyed the video, but I have a question. What's the reason for not letting your hair get wet while showering and then going through the process of blow drying the sweat and applying dry shampoo, instead of simply rinsing your hair with water, cause that 'cleans' the hair a little bit too right?
You descirbed it precisely with the "Katara Water-Bending your ass" analogy, its just too perfect to relate to the shit i go through, i think its called hyper hydrosis the condition on which you sweat just like katara waterbending your ass.
Braid your hair every night because leaving it alone can damage your hair a little by causing split ends and stuff. That’s what my grandma told me at least lol
I've always had long hair, and these are very helpful tips! I did stop using a hair dryer, and just air dry now, is that cool? My hair is probably just like yours, I'll be sure to check your videos for more tips bro! 👍
