Thank you saved me big dollars. I was told sensors I bought in new tires were not backwards compatible. Worked like described except all my lights went on probably due to aftermarket lights. Worked in same order on my 07 Suburban. Thank you again!
Thanks a lot for the information ! I bought a barely used set of wheels and tires off a 2019 Silverado/ 6 lug rims for my 2009 GMC 1500...same same...then I heard they changed the sensors in 2019 after buying them and thought I had to have them broken down and have the new sensors installed ! That would have been pretty expensive ! Thank You for saving me a couple hundred bucks..at least ! God Bless.......
This helped me out. The other relearn procedure of ign on/parking brake didn't work for me. FL tire took around 20 sec to engage the horn and signal light. It was also the highest pressure @ around 37. So they may need to hit a certain psi range it seems? The FR tire took around 10 and the others were less than that.
That thing you mentioned that fills tires with air is called a tire chuck ( at least that's what we call it here in the rust belt). Thanks for the video.
Thanks so much you saved the day! Two questions if you know....if this procedure doesn't work, is it safe to say one of your sensors is bad, AND....do you have to have your foot on the brake to make the horn chirp and initiate the TPMS procedure? Thanks. Btw 2010 Cobalt
Thanks a million, worked on my 08 Buick Enclave, I used a schrader preprogrammed sensor as a replacement and followed the steps laid out,if you replace one sensor you still have to calibrate all four wheels.
Are your new tire pressure sensors aftermarket or did you have to buy them from a GM dealer? I was told that it's expensive to have these things replaced, but a new set of them are $40 on Ebay and I can install them in the wheels myself.
Nice video with simple clear instructions. Unfortunately it did not work on my 2008 Pontiac G6. Been trying for weeks but it will just not go into learning mode. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated
Turn your engine off and set your parking brake. Turn the ignition to "On" without cranking the engine. Press and hold the "Lock" and "Unlock" button on your keyless entry remote for 5 seconds, until the horn chirps twice.
doransignal I’ve actually tried both of those. Even after looking at your video right now I went to try it again Incase I missed something. It just won’t go into learn mode for some reason
After you turn the key forward to accessories....Can you take your foot off the brake and then press the buttons on the key fob?....Or do you have to keep your foot on the brake the entire time?
2008 HHR. Everything going fine until getting to RR no chirp. Tried the whole thing twice. After waiting a few minutes it honks twice and stop. The rear tires are new, is it possible the RR and LR are swapped? And the system thinks I'm out of order? What happens if going out of order?
We had new rims, tires, and sensors installed on our 2011 Silverado. They were wider rims and tires that the truck had when we bought it. We tried this method yesterday and had no luck. We bought the sensors from RockAuto. When I attempted to begin letting air out of the tires in the order of driver side front moving clockwise, the truck timed out of the program mode before it registered the sensor. Do you know if we need to have a programmer for the sensors or if the sensors may not be compatible?
Hey there. What is that thing called you're using? :) Can I find me a piece like that at Advance Auto Parts? :) If so, how much would they charge for one like that? :) How likely will that help get the display to start showing the temperature & the odometer & stay like that every time I start the car? :) Will it help keep the tire pressure light from staying on whenever the car is running? :) Thank you! :)
Advanced auto should carry it it's the part for your air hose/compressor to fill your tires. Just dont hook it up to the compressor and it will let the air out.
@@doransignal Will it also help fix it to where whenever I start my Chevrolet HHR it will display the temperature & the odometer & have it stay like that while the vehicle is running from now on? :) Please let me know ASAP. Thank you! :)
I recently purchased my 2010 Chevrolet HHR, the wheels were recently replaced, I am getting the tire pressure error and two of the four tires are not showing pressure in the info screen. I turned the ignition to on (with the engine off) and press the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously but there is no beep. I tried this over and over and the same thing. Maybe this means one or more of the tire sensors are missing or inoperational.
I have a 2008 Chevy Equinox, one of the valves broke on the tip since they are alumimum, can I buy one of those programed valve sensors on ebay and do this procedure? no need for pairing tool? thanks in advance
@@doransignal Received the new TPMS sensor today in the mail, went to install it and came back home, followed your instructions on this video and worked flawlessly, you saved me a lot of money, thanks a lot!!!!!
Michael, did you find out the answer how to reset it? I also don't have a key fob for the same model of car and can't get the sensor to relearn. Did you use a specific brand sensor to get it to work? Chevy couldn't get it to relearn.
Put on parking brake turn key to on position and hold down information button until you see reset tire position and let go it should honk and driver side headlight should be on
Ok, Thank You very much. I will perform tire rotation this weekend on my Opel Ampera (Chevy Volt twin on this side of the Atlantic). I will try this. Greetings from Portugal.
I Have A Chevy Cobalt. When I Push Both Locks And Unlock Buttons, To Set The TPMS, The Horn Doesn't Beep. The Horn Works Any Other Time. The Dash Says Check Air Pressure. The RR Shows 1lb Of Air. This Sensor Was Just Changed. Any Suggestions?
Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine. ... Press the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter's LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for five seconds. ...
So my front passenger side tire sensor didn’t register when I changed my snow tires. When I attempted this reset afterwards the tire didn’t beep and almost ran out of air, what might be the problem ?
It worked until I got to the right (passenger) front. First I had to let almost all the air out. I actually almost gave up on it, but I got the beep just as I was about to stop. Then the passenger rear, I deflated the tire pretty much to nothing, and no beep. I figured the front should have been reset, because those 2 seemed to work (albeit a lot of air out of the one)- but it didn't.
I'll look into the sensor batteries. I appreciate your video. It was worth a shot. This is one of those things where if it's a quick fix (like your video) I'd do it. The one I'm not thrilled with is the tire people. They worked fine until I got new tires last year. I didn't feel like sitting 2 hours to wait for em to fix it (it's a busy place). So I just dealt with it. I can check the pressure the old fashioned way.
Mine never beeps even if I bring the air down very low (It does detect that the tire is low so that is good) I just want to get to the rear right tire, but I cannot seem to pass the front left) Eventually the TPMS RESET mode leaves..
Thanks it must be sensor because I tried it twice and let a lot or air out. Any idea what the cost is ? This wouldn’t trigger the check engine light would it ?

ah dammit, I have one of those 5th gen Camaros from the big lawsuit GM had over hitting the key with your knee shuts the car off... So GM's recall solution is to throw away your key fob and give you plain keys. And no dealer I go to will sell me the keyfob with the buttons, they just tell me: "We can't do that here, you can get a copy made at the hardware store.".. To wich I say, NO I want the keyfob remote that unlocks and locks the doors, then they just repeat the same thing again... "SIR GO TO THE HARDWARE STORE FOR A SPARE KEY..." Seems to me with the lawsuit b.s. dealerships don't want the liability of selling Camaro keyfobs. POINT IS, I cant reset these dam tire monitors without the keyfob?? or is there another way
