Excellent! I have a number of javelins that require regrip and I was certainly headed the wrong way! Thank you

Thank you for a very helpful video. I have several practice and competition Javelins to do this on.

Glad you found it useful. Remember that the specifications for gripping a competition javelin are very tight, so you will need to measure extremely carefully.

Thank you for the video. The grip cord is just 4mm 100% cotton cord right? I see websites selling grip cord for extreme prices compared to just buying a big spool of macrame cotton cord.

Javelin grip cord is 4ply cord with synthetic core and cotton braided outer. The regulations and measurements for competition javelins are very tight, so it is crucial that you use exactly the correct diameter and weight of cord. We could not guarantee that cheap macrame cotton cord would meet those specifications, so you will be taking a gamble which may or may not work. We sell replacement grip cord in 5m lengths. You will see stated on other selling sites that only 2.65m is required for a 400g javelin, and 4.1m for 800g, but we find that is far too short to work with, not least because you have to have enough of a tail to work with, even though you may then cut it off after (as seen in the video). You will certainly not be able to regrip a javelin if you use an exact length of cord to start with. I hope that is useful, even though I can't directly answer your question!

@@NeuffAthletic thank you so much for getting back to me and for the additional information. A synthetic core makes since because the cotton can be pulled very thin and stretch over time, whereas the synthetic will stay tight. Your website is the only one that I saw that says there is a synthetic core on the cord. Thank you again.
