I made a summary for it without watching this video again. Remember the Word "SO HOST" S- Skim pages to understand the basic and get into since O- Only read and don't go for multi tasking H- Highlight the important points O- Organise the info in your mind S- Summarize the points on paper ( If can't , go again and see points) T- Teach it/Tell it to others 😊

No Slide, No Visual Aids, but I can understand it fully by listening attentively. Very helpful and very relatable as a student. Will implement it right away. Thanks so much for sharing this! *Below are the summary* Start with a proper plan 1. Pre-reading Objective: To get into reading or focus zone Skimming/ Preview - About three minutes of Skimming through text and the boxes in the book *VERY IMPORTANT BEFORE ACTUAL READING* 2. Actual Reading Objective: Focus and Comprehension - Single Tasking i) Highlight the important points - pull yourself back to present and refer main points in the future 3. Post-reading Objective: Retention Output principle i) Summarise each chapter from memory after reading - if can’t recall then go back to read and summarise again do it for every chapter or session ii) Implement (EXTRA points from me) - Apply the lesson learnt in the calendar ii) Share (Teach, Discuss) - Share it to your family and friends about what you have learnt It remind me of this quote when I heard about plan in the beginning. “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail” - Benjamin Franklin

That's really nice! But was wondering what about books not owned by one, say the library books where you're not allowed to mark or highlight? Is there any other way for step 2?

Good point. In such cases, I would take notes (either paper or online such as Evernote). And then make it a point to review and test myself later on.

Sir what to do while reading any book when sometimes I don't get the meaning of some English words?? Shall I go through the dictionary in the phone or not?? Or I will just read it out completely after that at the last moment after completing I will go for the meaning??

There are pros and cons for both options. As I suggested in Step #1 in this video, during the pre-reading, one of the things you can look for is to check the complexity of the text. If the text has too many new words or jargon, it might be a good idea to spend a few minutes to understand what the words mean BEFORE you go to Step #2.

Sometimes there will be long technical meetings mostly online, and by end of the meeting we tend to forget many things . Mostly this happens during online technical trainings. Minutes of meeting is also not helping. What is the best way to take notes fast , when some training is going on? Can you please do a video on this 🙏🙂

My general answer for your first question is, "It is a good idea to study without music". But it also is person-specific. You should try out studying without music, and then compare your performance with what happens when you do listen to music. Most students report that they 'no music' is better. So, give it a try. For your second question, if the music is really at the background and you don't 'engage' with it AT ALL (like humming, or thinking about the lyrics), then it may not be classified as multi-tasking. I will work on creating a video on this topic soon.

I personally prefer 'real' books. However, because of the ease and the speed with which I can have an e-book, I now have many e-books. In any case, all the steps work equally well for real books and e-books.
