Kicking off my series on 100 Series tractor routine maintenance we have the mower deck removal and install!

Thanks for video josh I knew you didn’t trade, I follow your channel and glad you are doing other JD videos as well, like I told ya before I have the 1025R and the s100 series mower for my yard and like watching other videos like these myself, keep up the good work friend 👍

Thank you! This is a great video! A lot of others skip steps, making them essentially useless. You did a nice job. I'm having issues getting my new belt on, specifically with the wheel in the middle/front that is sitting on a little metal arm. The metal piece that helps keep the belt on isn't movable like on the other wheels. How do I get the belt in? Do I have to take the little wheel off? If so, any ideas on loosening a stuck nut/screw?

Sounds like the tensioner you are having trouble with? Might have to put a socket wrench on it to pull it back to where you can put the belt on. If need be, email some pictures of your issue. Be better if I can see exactly what it is.

Hey I have a John Deere s 100 and I was wondering am I able to install a higher back seat on it because the lower one kind of hurts my back

Well you could get a seat for an S180, that is higher, or you could possibly look at the mounting holes for an X300 (any level) seat to see if they would match up. Most seats have a bunch of different holes. I just can’t say which ones for sure would work. But you could definitely get any seat off a 100 series.

How can i adjust the tention if the new belt replacement is loose? I have the s100 which had a welded tention bracket. Im older models the tention bracket was adjustable. Can you help?

Hmm… I’ll have to look into it. So the tensioner on yours isn’t spring loaded?

Dealer or online. If you go to Deere’s website, you can get on the online parts catalog to get the part number. I have a video on how to use the parts catalog.

What size is the belt on that mower? 98.1 inches?

Not sure honestly... If I owned it I'd check for you... I can look next time I'm at the store though, I think they print it on the package.

Josh if your gonna drive your tractor around remove front mower deck rod so you don't jackknife your tractor and bend your rod

No, I did not trade in the 700. I would never trade my 758 for a 100! And there ain’t no damn blue here!… I got to use my neighbors E100 so I could make some videos for people with 100 series tractors, so I can expand into that demographic and help out the most highly purchased line of Deere lawn mowers. You not see my picture I posted of the 2 side by side?

I think around 60ish… Still new being 5 years old at this point with that low hours. He seems to like it. He has a bagger for it too, that’s it though, no pull behinds or anything.
