Awesome guide! This will come in handy today when I remove the fuel pump on my 2007 Civic Si. Great lighting and recording, no loud music with clear concise narration. Thanks guys.
Great work young man I appreciate the attention to detail of making sure the lines dont get any debris, precision when it comes to car maintenance is so commonly overlooked, yet so necessary for maximum longevity
Loved this video, straight to the point. Way too many videos out there that have 30 minutes of stuff that doesn't matter followed remove the part and install the new part without details. Keep up the good work, two thumbs up. Now to the garage to change my pump.
Ayyyyye that’s right man, who ever the camera guy is, big bro, uncle, dad, cousin, man who ever you are props man you’re instilling confidence and teaching him a great trade. Kid will be fixing all his homies hondas 😂😂😂😂😂
Good job, you only missed one step (but an important one)... Always make sure you have a properly rated fire extinguisher within arm's reach before cracking the tank open. Also, you should make sure that electric motors such as fans, or anything that could make a spark is far away from the job. If the weather is cold or dry, I also make sure that I don't have any synthetic fabrics on which could generate a static spark. 99.999% of the time nothing would ever happen, but you don't want to be that .001% guy!
Awesome! I figured as much, just wanted to point out that when showing other people how to do this job, some of whom have never opened a gas tank before, it never hurts to tell folks explicitly to be prepared for the worst beforehand. I once saw a guy using a cordless drill as a screwdriver near an open tank, and cordless drills make sparks around the commutator quite a bit. So I always tell people to really stop and think before they plunge into a job like this. Thanks for the vid, it's short and sweet. That kid's gonna be one hell of a wrench some day.
I have a 2008 Civic LX -- can he be my mechanic? Where’s he located! Amazing eye for detail and he works a “clean” area! Love it! Now, is he in California?
Thank you please like, share, and subscribe, also please check out my other channel Salem Taxi, on RU-vid for more material on a different level. we are in North Carolina and the young man is now 21
well done young man - I really doubt there is another kid out there who can pull this off. Even if you were guided so what cos' trust me the new generation does not even know how to hold a screw driver properly.
Why risk spark or damage using a chisel and hammer on a plastic retainer? The fuel pump retainer ring tool is 12 bucks and much easier.Or a simple wooden dowel. There are plastic or cast aluminum cross shaped tools you put on a 3/8 drive ratchet.I spin mine off with the air ratchet.
@@crazysexycool180 I could'nt advise anybody how to use a tool if I did'nt use it myself.I have rebuilt and restored 18 cars in the past 38 years. From 1949 pontiac silver streak straight 8,53 oldsmobile 88 303 rocket ,57 Olds holiday coupe with 371 j2 three deuce set up to 275 hp 02 honda civic. Not too many tools I do not know how to use.Surely a fuel pump retainer ring wrench does'nt confuse me.
Brother my honda city 2007 pic power is soo poor i recently changed all the power plugs but pic power is sill poor one mechanic saying that fuel pump is weak so it's true? Will pic power increase after replacing fuel pump?
Awesome! This young man is getting some good training. This is a very useful video. Just little practical stuff that turns a nightmare job into something almost anyone can do. I'm going to have to get an impact wrench like that. :) What kind is it?
It’s in the housing of the fuel pump. Gotta unclip a wire give it some slack and the bottom housing has two push tabs pinch them and the housing will slide off, fuel pump is located within the housing you’ll have to pinch some tabs to free it. Fuel filter is attached to the fuel pump.
I'm watching this trying to figure out where the fuel tank pressure sensor is? If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Can't find anything online
Gerardo Villicana thx for taking the time to comment. I've had my back seats pulled for over a month now. Gonna get to it this weekend. The evaporator canister is under the car right? Should be able to find something on a Google search
Late...but if you are talking about your fuel pressure regulator it is the small barrel shaped object next to the fuel pump at bottom of the pump module.
+GreatGrandmasterWang because they did not want us to be able to do it on our own and to take it back to dealer so they can suck more money out of us.....
WTF! Why would you go in with a full tank of fuel to get your fuel filter changed? I remember changing mines on my last car with just fumes in the tank lol
Nice job kid , but your teacher is a terrible actor trying to play the oh is that what that is role ! Lol..listen kid try to be more sensitive to someone's personal car when you take out bolts and use screw drivers to pry on covers , so as you do you take care not to scratch the protective paint on the body of the car. That way it does not create a possible rust spot. When you move around the sits they don't get torn on some brackets . Your doing a great job learning, and having an interest in auto mechanics, but there's a lot responsibility that comes with this field. Good luck to you and keep up the good work.. thanks
