The relays/fuses for the fuel pump just relieve pressure upon killing power to pump and insure steady flow ends upon removing lines to pump same difference when just un-hooking battery but won't lose radio settings that need a code to unlock you will have to look it up otherwise. Other then that just get an old rag ready to hold over lines when the residual squirts out until its done and you will still be good if you dont want to remove fuses. Dont forget to unscrew gas cap.

If you're doing it on a 7th gen Civic, you're better off leaving the fuse and relay in and just letting fuel spit out from the fuel line. The under dash fuse box is a PAIN and trying to remove the fuel pump relay from behind the glove box is an even bigger pain. Unless you have infant sized hands, you're not getting the two clips off and pulling the relay out.

I told Honda that it might be a relay and can I get one in the guys like we sell them but it's not that that never breaks

Same location and same process, possible size difference in the fuel pump, but other then that pretty straightforward

I got rid of the vehicle about 7 months later but it held up during that 7 month period after.

I had exactly the same issue today and it turned out my aftermarket fuel filter did not let through enough fuel to start the car/let it idle properly. Put in the old filter again (which wasn't broken in my case) and it worked again. An expert told me these vehicles are very picky on the type of fuel filter you install and will not run with every filter available.

@@dieterdt6753 Thanks for the answer. To not waste time I bought a whole new fuel pump. Installed it. Everything is fine. I'll trouble-shoot the old one if I get some time.

So you're saying it won't register anything below half a tank on the fuel guage? If that's what your getting at, it sounds like the float on the pump is getting stuck, at the halfway point, not allowing it to read correct fuel level.

When i still had this car it had 151k.

They're both a complete pain in the ass to get to, so it's a pick your poison deal.

You literally have to hold the bracket it's in why you wobbled back-and-forth slowly till it comes out it's such a tight fit

Unbolt the whole bracket where all three relays are mounted. Very easy after wards use a small flat head driver to slowly pry relay from bottom like butter.
