I love your videos! I have a strange situation with my bathroom wall. There is tile over drywall. They removed the mirror section of the tile to place a cheap 5 part mirror in the recessed area. The problem is drywall doesn't come in the thickness of tile. Any suggestions for filling that gap once the mirror is removed? Thanks!

Any recommendations for removing a glued on wooden frame from a large mirror mounted to our bathroom wall? Previous owner framed it with knotty pine and I'm afraid that I'll crack the mirror by prying it off.

It really is that easy, if you are not familiar with that work wear gloves that won't cut on the glass in case of an accident.

WOW! Just what I needed! I'm so glad you made this video. Exactly what I had. Now, why did I remove it? I had a new roof installed. I have a rambler. The roofers made so many loud drops and bangs I thought they were going to fall through the roof. My vanity and mirror were pulled away from the wall - I take from the house shaking. I was afraid the mirror was going to fall and break. They also added a nice crack above a doorway in another room and messed up the molding around a pocket door. The clips were exactly how it was installed. Thank goodness no glue! I was thinking of using a rubber mallet and "hammering" it back in place, repaint and replace mirror. Thanks.

Mine came off by itself. The medicine cabinet Kept it from falling forward all the way so it’s just tilted. But It’s good to know how those clips work though I will have to get a handyman to help. Thanks!

Very helpful! The mirror I need to remove doesn’t have clips I think it is liquid nailed on and I’m so afraid I’ll ruin the wall if we tear it off.

Thank you for this video. The clip issue was bothering me. I am doing my elderly mothers bathroom over this weekend and I was scratching my head on the clips. QQ: if there is a lot of glue on back of the mirror, how would I repair the drywall? Please, please, please don’t tell me that i have to replace it!

Hi Tony, a lot of times the brown paper gets exposed. spray with kilz oil based aerosol primer and wait 5 minutes. then you can mud or spakle. Cheers!

So you don't believe it's necessary to use glue if you properly use the j-hooks and clips? I'm about to put up a room full of 3x7ft mirrors and am trying to determine if the glue is really necessary. Thanks in advance!

mirrors that size should be installed with a 2 sided mastic. if you don't want to see any hardware then I suggest talking to a glass shop about options. The size and weight of your glass may require you by code in your area to use track or silicone with a temporary brace. Just remember mirrors are not usually tempered glass and if they fall off a wall can cause serious damage.

Why don't you remove the glass from the light fixture so it is not in the way?

You could if you wanted too. Those fixtures have 3 set screws each and have to be loosened by hand . It takes a lot longer to remove than to just be careful with the way your holding the glass.

The mirror we removed was much smaller but the previous owner must have used an entire tube of some sort of construction cement to attach it to the drywall. They were going for a "window" look because there are no windows in the bathroom and just put cheap shutters over it. Couldn't open the shutters and couldn't see the mirror. Not sure what they were thinking. We managed to remove it (and chunks of drywall) by using packing tape over the entire thing and using a prybar. What a nightmare.

Your knowledgeable for sure but your like a bull and notice you always cut corners . Why not remove the light fixtures it takes two minutes rather than almost ripping the light assembly of the wall.

I used to look at you like a superman on home renovation until I watched this video. No Safety (common sense) were used here in this video, but the gloves. No glasses, no long leaves shirt, NO TAPE used on the mirror in case it brakes!! You know there are people who doesn't use common sense at all. The only video i didn't like from you just because you didn't use your common sense. So sad!
