How to Remove a Headliner Board without Removing the Windshield VW CC

Hello James and Anna, you will still be ok. Just let the driver side back as shown in the video and it will still work out. The cc, Jetta, Passat, and gti are all the same. Let run thru it real quick. 4 grab handles two screws each. They will be removed with a torks head screwdriver. The sun visors will be a little different depending on the year. But they will be a single torks head screw. The part to watch out for is the ribbon cable attached to the visor. So not pull on it very hard. If your visor does not have a screw then it will just require a flat head screwdriver to remove it by pressing a clap inside the mount. The visor clip next to the center light console will be the same. Now the front light console is the tricky one. 6 torks head screws to look out for. The first two are in the front. Under the eyeglass compartment and two in the rear and two in the middle. For the front two, you will need a small flat head screw driver to remove the eyeglass compartment. Press the button open it and use the flat head to pry the compartment down via the two small crevices. After doing so you will see the two of them. After that use the flathead to pry down the plastic cover in the center of the light console. The center two screws will be exposed. After removing them the light fixture can be removed exposing the rear two. Then unplug the ribbon cable. Next the rear light fixture you can use your hands to pry down the light cover. There will be two plastic lever clip that is holding in the light fixture. Just press the tabs and lower the light. You will need to disconnect the ribbon cable and walla ✨ Magic the board is near ready to come down. The visors are still attached at this moment so, let get back to them. You will need to reach in the from of the headliner board to try and unlock the ribbon cable. Once removed the headliner board is now ready to come down n out. I hope this helps. He creased the FUQ out of it and yes doing this will show on final product.. never cut corners and if he was smart all you gotta do is take the driver seat OUT it’s 4 bolts and you don’t have to crease/bend the board

​@@CLUTCHDADDY will not help that much. The cc headliner is simply wider than the rear door hatch. You will get an extra inch by removing the drivers seat, but it is still not enough. So you either have to bend the headliner or cut the windshield out. Customers always choose the first option. And yes, the crease will disappear in several sunny days.

No the bend will eventually relax and your back to a nice smooth board. Marcus

Thanks Chris for viewing our videos. I have done it many time. The board will show some crease at first but with a good hot day the board will conform and go back to the way it was. Or if you have a steamer it will eliminate the crease as well. Thanks for checking us out. Marcus Headliner Magic

Or just take the driver seat out and not crease it at all.

Thing is, I'm flocking my headliner so I doubt that would be the same case and I have tried letting it self heal on a hot day and no such luck.. once the headliner is creased, it is creased.. sorry to out you but you need to be honest..

​@@CLUTCHDADDY you are talking about a completely different process. Headliner fabric has a foam layer, that a flock doesn't have. If you use it, there will be no visible crease in the final result. P.S. why on earth do you have to flock your headliner???

@Check Engine do me a favor and stay in your lane man.. how thick do you think the foam layer is hahahahahaha.. you see the crease either way.. I'm sure you would know if you have actually done the process and I flocked mine because it's called originality and customization.. you don't win shows by following the crowd.. -_- I did a fiber optic Rolls-Royce headliner and flocked headliner instead of a cloth suede..
