The best car detailer I’ve ever seen actually touched up the scratches with touch up paint and then buffed. Looked perfect after he was done every time.

WOW I used it on my truck and I’m so happy with the results you can kinda see some scratches but no where near as bad as it was worked with ease with a harbor freight buffing wheel

I bought an used Honda CRV Black car. And it did a decent job at diminishing scracthes. It eliminates some minor ones and hand door swirls or hood swirls are definatelu gone. This + Wax 3in 1 +nxt sealant and booster + Crystal clear shampoo and you have got a new car

I saw in another video that you can test if it is a clear coat scratch by spraying it with soapy water first. If it disappears when wet it is a clear coat scratch and can me fixed.

What happens to the gloss finish on the area you rub down? Do you apply a clear coat once you're finished? I have a black 4Runner with a number of "welcome home" scratches under the driver's window from my idiot dogs!

Actually just picked this up last week for my 19GT. I used a polisher to remove the scratch. Did multiple passes. Agree would it give it 8 out of 10.

Black paint problem, here we go. I'm owing a black car myself, and it's my first and surely last black car ever. It's shiny and beautiful after a wash when I put it in a garage. Scuffs and scratches are of course mandatory but not welcome. I think that most resistant to those problems are silver metallic, or metallic gray.

Bro med-fine grit wet sand, compound with firm cutting pads on a drill attachment, polish with fine or finishing pad. Sealant. Done. couple extra bucks but it pays for itself.

It would help a little but a key would leave a pretty heavy scratch so you would still see it

Please note I only had service scratches from idiots parking too close & swing open their doors...and a drill with a cord is much faster & convenient, the cordless one, my battery kept dying

I tried this yesterday on a 2020 BMW 3-series. The scratches were not deep but man I really had to apply a lot of pressure trying both a microfiber towel and an applicator pad. I was sweating as crazy. I'd recommend using an electric tool for this if there are a lot of scratches, or just doing the whole car. But the product seems to work, it's mostly about the skill (and strength) by the applicant :)

Brah the scratches were too deep. Took the clear coat off so it's got a indentation in the paint. It work for the surrounding scratch Mark's though. Hopefully you do another video in the future for deeper scratches that leaves the paint but takes off the entire clear coat

The only way to get “ rid of” of the scratch is to use several different “ stages “ of sandpaper with a lubricant like detail spray or water with a couple drops of wash and wax car soap in a spray bottle. Start with 600 grit wet sand paper and plenty of spray with very light pressure. Clean it up and use a sheet of 1000 or 1500 grit with the same technique. Move up to a sheet of 2500 or 3000. The scratch should be gone or “ invisible “ by now but you will have a “ cloudy “ paint finish. Now you need to compound and or polish the area. The scratch should be “ gone” but that’s only if you started with a clear coat only scratch. A down to primer or bare metal scratch will need a more complex procedure. If your car is a daily driver, I just want it to look good but I’m not entering in a car show, then you’re done but a whole vehicle claybar, polish and wax or ceramic won’t hurt.

I’m a lifetime customer for black paint. Perfect mix of class and aggression. I also live on a long gravel driveway so a weekly quick wash is always needed, but man I’d still chose it over white (or blue🤢)

you cant remove scratches if the paint is gone . If the scratch is the clear coat then yes you can wet sand with 3K or5K grit till the scratch is gone then use scratch X it should be good.

Have another rub or two and it should go away. Paint comes in several layers and you won't make it worse.

It is polish and polish removes all sealents,waxes, and coatings. It HAS to, in order to get down and correct the clear coat!

dude the rubbing needs to be done in circular motion not back and forth. and the kit includes the applicator pad which fits in drilling machine.. that way you might have removed this scratch in better way

You never want to rub in a circular motion by hand. You will get swirls 99% of the time.

@@CanadianCruisin That will only happen with something much more abrasive like dust particles. This has next to no abrasion, especially by hand. If it did, you would have gotten the same micro scratches as swirls , just not in a circular pattern, they would be straight.. and since this isn’t very abrasive, it could take 4-5 attempts before it works. That scratch appears deep to me, if you run your fingernail over it and it catches then it’s too deep for chemical correction and calls for a paint touch up. Just my opinion. It has no fillers btw.
