I found the video kind of funny. They list all these tools but then demonstrate that you only need a grinder and a screwdriver. Thanks for showing how simple this task can be.
I should have looked for this video before I used TNT to blow my old security door :S , my front entrance door now has a hole bigger than my garage door,,,, oh well :D
Unless you bought exactly the same door, chances are the holes on the new door probably won't match those of the original door. You can use spackle or wood putty to fill in the old holes before drilling and mounting the new door. As for the screws, it's hard to tell. If the new door came with smaller diameter screws they wouldn't work in the old holes.
LMAO..."you are now finished, thank you for watching" ..when I heard this i had settled in to get started I live in Hollywood, California in an apt on the bottom floor. Someone tried to break in back in 2015. My landlord was informed about it and didn't want to buy me a security door, so I bought one myself and had a maintenance guy install it. I still live here and was just wondering if its even worth it to take it when I go. it was $400 from the Home Depot. I picked a nice one....but its more of principal really.....same with my A/C unit...they aren't fixing it....I will buy a bad ass one and install it myself but I WILL take it with me Sux, when you dont own your own house 😒
@Hollywoodsaint 57 ABSOLUTELY take that $400 door & bad a$$ A.C. you purchased with you when leaving! They belong to you, even if all you end up doing is selling/storing in a basement (for your future house).. Why leave them THERE for the bum landlord to profit off of when he couldn’t care less about your safety or comfort?? Soon as you move out he’s raising the rent & he’ll be able to charge even more if your amenities are still in place..
