This doesn’t work very well. What works better is to dig out around the stump a little then drill a few holes close together in the middle, as deep as possible then as far down as you can get on the side, drill in from the side to connect the holes and turn the stump into a rocket stove. The more you burn the larger the center chimney gets, and you can add fuel to it to keep a hot fire burning in the middle. Heat is your friend, as you must dry out the wood that is being fed moisture from the roots underground. You want to clean the ash out and drill farther down whenever possible, hopefully you will eventually drill into dirt under the roots. Eventually everything above ground will burn and you can then backfill the hole. It still takes a lot of time… Need to put up a sheetmetal heat shield to protect that fence:O Want instant gratification, hire a stump grinder…
I have tried about every example on RU-vid… the I finally figured out… let the stump dry out for a year… drill a 1-1/2” hole 10” I to the stump… light 30-45 mi ute road flare and drop it in the hole. It will burn the stump and the roots will slowly burn for 2-3 days sometime I leave you with a nice tripping hazard
I got a 16 inch spade bit and I drill 5 holes from the top and 5 from the side and it worked a lot better. It only took 5 hours 😅 but the whole thing was gone.
Tips: - Place a metal plate (heat reflector) between the fence and stump to prevent damage to the fence. - Get rid of sticks and leaves around the stump for safety - Replace kerosine with a slower burning oil - Use a longer drill bit
@@garrysingh3337 Right, that’s what I was thinking. Roots underground are green and very moist, as well. PLUS there isn’t much oxygen, if any. I do suppose that stranger things have happened!?!?!?
Personally, I would have left it and made a nice table, planter or seat. You could do anything you wanted around it, build a deck or pour a concrete patio. It is kinda pretty. ✌🏻🤍
After watching your video, it appears, to me, that your homemade, extra long and extended paddle bit, that you welded up, really just didn’t like the thought of boring down into that tree stump and ultimately decided to give up and let go on you and not last very long!?!?!? That really would suck!!!
Knew an old bloke who'd stuff the holes with a past of sulfur and Kerosene. cover it for at least a month wetting it with more kero then light it it smouldered away for days but the stump and roots were totally gone.
Yes sir I just did one more thing, I cut the top and bottom out of a 55 gallon drum set it on top the city of Bradenton Florida said I can't have an open flame so I put a grill top on 😂😂 .
Fill holes w/Rock Salt & try to burn following yr. Rock Salt dries out & dehydrated roots to kill them off also. No goog getting rid of stump, when hundreds of tiny trees will be popping up all over your yard.
