How to REMOVE and CLEAN Bottom Glass Shelf in SAMSUNG Refrigerator

How do I remove the glass shelf above the drawers on my Samsung refrigerator? Call a contractor or a handy man, that's how, or set aside an hour and get your tool box because this is waaaay over-engineered. There are two clips locking the glass shelf structure in place. There is a permanent clip on the front holding the shelf to the plastic structure and another two removable clips in the back that can only be removed with pliers, once the who assembly has been removed and placed upside down on a counter.

YES! YES! YES!! I have the same fridge. Had a big spill and tried to clean it. Thank God, I have an appliance repair buddy that walked me thru how to do this very thing. Thanks as always for sharing! Do you have any idea how much you have saved people over the years with these hacks????

WOW!!! I have been at this for hours!! I have a mess from a large, no longer frozen bag of strawberries, all over! If I did not see this, I literally would have had it busted! This angers me!! I am 60 and have had many refrigerators and never had a fridge that was diff to clean. This truly is a nightmare appliance and samsung will hear from me! Thanks!

I had the exact same refrigerator. Wait until the drawer sensor won't see the drawer as being closed and starts chiming in the middle of the night. I replaced sensors and even a controller board just to have the new board go bad again. So glad to get rid of it!

After ruining my hands in an attempt to deal with those clips, I just snapped them off in situ with a screwdriver. Slid out the glass through the back and left the front clip alone. Do I like having to damage my fridge to clean it??? No. But neither I nor my husband have the hand strength to manhandle this shelf and I draw the line at paying a service fee just to clean the fridge. It looks fine, by the way. Tip for cleaning the goop out of the crevices... use a wood toothpick and a paper towel doused in rubbing alcohol. It is a better solvent than water and will make the job easier and quicker.

it's so funny you mention that. When I first met my husband, he was working as an engineer (he went to college, but not for that. Worked his way up and learned on the job). His job was to fix the designs from the college grads, and make them... work 😅

I have this fridge. You know you can remove the drawers and unclip from underneath without taking the whole shelf out. The clips are really easy to pop out.

If I had that situation those clips would no longer be functional. The reason they are this way in the first place is the way these things are shipped. If the glass isn't held in place it will be in a million pieces. They could have made the clips a little easier to use.

I done a lot of work getting mine out also. When I moved I duct tape my down so it wouldn't fall out and get broken

I have had my refrigerator for almost a year now. It's almost paid for. I will not hook my ice maker up noo way don't want no problems out of it now. I use ice trays.

Just wait until you get a jam in your ice box, water drips below those drawers - and the freezer underneath those drawers turns it into a big sheet of ice - which will freeze the drawers in the ice, preventing you from opening them..

I am irratated also I have never seen nothing like this shelf. I had to beg my son to come and help me get this damn shelf out. He just looked and went outside!! lol
