On older cam-in-block engines, the cam bearings should be replaced during an engine rebuild. This video shows how to use the tool that removes and installs the bearings.

Most engines have a grove cut in the bore for the camshaft .so the oil hole in the block will feed oil in the bore and it will find the hole in the cam bearing thus lube the camshaft
Directions should come with new bearings that tell you where to position the oil hole. Mine were at the two o’clock position with the engine upright for a small block chevy 350.
if i bought this too to remove the cam bearing and removed the bearings and then took the engine block to the machine shop to have the cylinders bored and honed, would the machinists installing the new cam bearing no exactly how to line up the oil passages if he/she didnt take it apart?
