oh mate.....ACE!! life saver!! my window keeps on coming off the runner, the sponge was never glued on properly. Mine is a 2001 convertible but principle is the same. Cheers!! BTW...have you got a video for the wire harness in the dash, i've got three connectors, two standard ISO, third not sure what that does.
I don't have the car any more. It's no harder than the passenger door, you can either remove connector from rear of the door card after removal or just pop the button out with a Bojo tool and disconnect before removal.
Hej. Super clear. I think the only video on entire YT on door removal for MK1. Quick question. I am adding door speakers. Would you know if I need to remove the panel of can I get good access if so remove speak cover (mesh thingy)... ?
Hi Maciej, thanks for the feedback! I can’t recall if the speaker grille comes off separately but I think even if it would it’d be an easier job with the door card removed. Hope this helps!
Pozwolę sobie odpowiedzieć po polsku. Wyrwałem u siebie z jednej strony, bo myślałem, że grill jest na jakieś klipsy, a chciałem tylko sprawdzić czy mam głośniki. Również myślałem, że boczków drzwi nie trzeba zdejmować. Okazuje się, że grill jest na plastikowych "nitach", które nie są przeznaczone do demontażu. Przy próbie demontażu mi wszystkie pękły. Teraz muszę i tak zdjąć boczek aby przykleić z powrotem nity od grilla, bo z zewnątrz nie da się ich wkleić. Ale głośników nie było w środku, także nie narzekam, bo przy okazji je sobie zamontuję 😀 Udało mi się znaleźć wzmacniacz z kablem do radia. I dystanse MDF. Nie wiem tylko czy jest sens wygłuszać dodatkowo drzwi. Uwielbiam takie robótki DIY w Saabach
So the cables, do they go to the kickerpanel to where normally the AS3 amp would be? or do they wire directly to the radio? I have no door speakers and planning to add these my self. Do i need to wire them to the radio or is just plugging them in at the door enough?
@@IAMASPANNER Already found out, found out the wires go to the kicker panel at the passenger side there is a lose connector, solder wires from the radio to that connector
@@dk2428 Uuuhm you can dm me on grandpa.saab instagram. I can take a look for you and send some there and otherwise help u via chat. the install is not that hard. the best is to get the adapter rings so you can mount the speakers because the door has no mounting holes for speakers. there is a set of wire in each door which goes to the passangerside kicker panel. there a connector can be found with wires like grey, brown red, yellow and orange white (not sure) these wires you have to splice in and extend to the main unit to a L and R channel. Its not optimal to do it like that. the best is to add a amplifier in between
