How to remove Factory Ford Ranger stereo radio head unit din 

i just got a tool for this and it was pissin me off cuz it wasn't working and i broke the damn side of the radio. i was a little skeptic about this video when i played it cuz i saw that radio and it was all messed up but knowing how the lock works kinda helps so im gonna try again tomorrow and see what i can do now so thanks bro

@Dmsquad I would use a coat hanger with a hook to try to pry and lift them up and off what ever they are hooked on.

I tried the coat hanger and had a really difficult time getting the radio out. A small allen wrench (7/64) works much easier. Got it out in seconds.

Automobile Companies should install Factory Decks for their customers. Factory Stereo CD Changer System Damage often and is something that would satisfy customer needs when they break. After-Market Stereo Changers look sloppy or doesn't fit well in the center console.

it is much easier to just take the entire face around the radio off and then you can take the radio out from the back side.

I didn't even need these for my 1997 Ford Ranger and thought I had to get them which I did buy them and ended up not needing them. I tried to install my own stereo but failed big time there was no power going through my new stereo but there was power going through my old one when I put it back in. I really don't know the reason for no power through the new one does the new harness have to be installed for the new one is that the reason? thanks

i have a 93 ford escort lx and i got the radio to come out but it only comes out a little below half way point..im guessing that wires are keeping it from coming out. I cant even see the back because of the wires..how would i get to te wires? unscrewing the ac unit above it?

@emerson24 No a pair of pliers, and used them to just start chewing into the radio.

how do you put a aftermarket radio in the ranger

@ilovemcdoubles i replaced it wtih some walmart special that has USB and Bluetooth
