Thanks man. It's a little tight but have learned to work around it. Having the A/C makes up for it. lol

Hi, Do you happen to have the torque spec on the axle nut? I believe its 65 ft . lbs. on the VT1100C
@cliffcares6455
@cliffcares6455 3 года назад
Front what I found. Front 45lb and rear 65lb.
@Dave-jc6ky
@Dave-jc6ky 3 года назад
@@cliffcares6455 Thanks I have since found similar numbers. Though a PDF of a service manual I found showed 43 ft. lbs. for front axle bolt, 16 ft. lbs. for the front axle pinch bolts and as you said 65 ft. lbs. for rear axle nut.

Hi Cliff!..Nice job. Is it the same procedure for a 98 Shadow Aero 1100? Should the nuts be torqued?
@cliffcares6455
@cliffcares6455 4 года назад
I believe they are. If it has the shaft drive and drum brakes. It will.
@derekr7814

You put the rubber in the wrong spot for the torque arm. It goes brake, torque arm, rubber, washer, nut, pin. Just so you are aware.

Now that I think about it. Believe you’re right. I was putting it back the way it came apart. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll make sure to look for that in the future.

HI, At approximately the 10:45 sec mark your about to reinstall the "speedometer housing" that the end of the speedometer cable connects to back against the wheel. There is a narrow cavity inside the mentioned "housing where there is some grease. My 02 Shadow Spirit VT1100C doesn't have hardly any grease inside that cavity. Do you know what type of grease is appropriate for that purpose? Does any grease go where the speedometer housing mounts against the front wheel?
@cliffcares6455
@cliffcares6455 3 года назад
Regular bearing grease would be good. It’s not under heavy load or gets hot. It just needs to keep things lubricated.

Lithium grease is a good choice too.

My 02 Shadow Spirit VT1100C appears similar in design to this cycle. Do you happen to have any videos on changing the front and or rear brake pads on this cycle? If so I will have a question in regards to changing the brake pads. Appreciate the tip on the alignment of the notch on the speedometer gear box assembly with the spot on the front fork!
