Did you do a relearn on your throttle body? I have a hyundai too (veloster) but having a hard time looking for a video for cleaning and relearn of the throttle body.
Your videos are amazing guys. Does anyone know if I have to drain the coolant if I'm just trying to clean it though? I can kind of understand why you would need to, to replace it since you're trying to get if off the car but just cleaning it you would think that wouldn't be an issue *shrugs
This is also an incredibly late reply, but for the sake of any others who may check these comments for the same question being answered - you do not need to drain the coolant to clean the throttle body, but you will have to clean the throttle body in the engine bay. Leave the hoses connected and handle the body carefully to avoid accidentally dislodging a coolant hose. All other steps above can be taken to give access to both sides of the body. Make sure to cover the engine opening to avoid contaminants falling into the engine, and utilize a non-chlorinated throttle body cleaner to clean the TB. Hyundai released detailed instructions on cleaning these throttle bodies in their Technical Service Bulletin #TSB-13-FL-002
Hope u can help I have an 2014 hyundai elantra GT I have changed the Ignition Coils, spark plugs, crankshaft posion Sensor, map manifold Pressure Sensors, and the Belt I got the car at an auto auction my problem is when I step heavy on the Gas / floor it the car doesn't respond well RPM goes up to around 4000 and the car is very slow I was thinking it maybe be the throttle body because after I turn off the car I can Hear a clicking in the throttle body after I turn the car off
You turn the key on and wait five seconds and turn off wait five seconds. Also, what they wouldn’t tell you is you have to reset the adaption value after doing the throttle cleaning and replacement. You will need a special scan tool to reset it.
@@teama224 there’s two that I can think of the one I have is a GScan 2 scan tool I’ve got from eBay. It has the same hardware as the factory Hyundai dealerships have in their scan tools. Then there’s the Autel Maxisys elite scan tool.
Friend, can you help me in part is the acceleration sensor I don't want to change everything only in the TPS sensor BUT I DON'T KNOW PART OF IT IS LOCATED MAYBE YOU CAN HELP ME THANKS
I realize this is incredibly late but just in case anyone stumbles across this wondering the same thing - the TPS is integrated into the throttle body on these vehicles. This throttle body is electronically controlled and the sensor is integrated with the servo that controls the opening and closing of the plate - if you're sensor is bad, you should replace the entire throttle body and run a relearn procedure once the install is complete. Keeping your foot entirely off the gas pedal: 1. Key in ignition, turn to On without starting the engine. (On push-to-start vehicles, press the Start button twice without putting your foot on the brake) 2. Wait 10 seconds. 3. Turn key to Off. 4. Wait 10 seconds. This is the process as recommended from Hyundai regarding the Throttle Position relearn, allowing the ECU to reset the throttle position data (which avoids the computer throwing codes due to differences between where the computer thinks the throttle is at, and where the actual throttle position is at) The information provided above was provided by Hyundai in #TSB-13-FL-002
@@docmccarthy Yup, and the guy asked if you can replace just the throttle position sensor, which you cannot. If you need to replace the TPS, you need to replace the throttle body, and if you replace the throttle body, you have to run a relearn once the install is complete. To your point, cleaning a throttle body can be done without full removal of the throttle body with a careful hand and protection of the surrounding parts - this avoids needing to disconnect the coolant line running through the TB, but does make the process of cleaning a little more tedious.
After cleaning throttle body check engine light is on Engine valve very clean Car work smooth But i did start the car without connecting the sensor wire And after connecting the sensor wire engine very smooth but engine light working ? Any advice
I've got an issue with a 2011 Hyundai Elantra you're driving the car normally and all of a sudden the pedal dies you have to take your foot off the gas and then put it again and it works when it happens the cruise control also doesn't want to work any suggestions I've changed the throttle body and I've changed the accelerator pedal and I have no codes on the altel
Question -- from what I've read/seen online, is the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) built into this throttle body?? Where's the TPS on a 2016 Hyundai Elantra with the 1.8L 4 cylinder engine? Thank you!
The tps is attached to the pedal then a servo motor adjusts the throttle body to open and close. Be sure to test and replace the correct part. Common problem is hesitation during acceleration and you must determine the faulty unit
Absolutely not, cleaning with maybe a wire brush or sandpaper very easily, to simply remove debris. Gasket that should be replaced, will do an adequate job sealing both parts. Great question, never overlook the simple things.
I have a code P050A on 2015 veloster turbo, runs fine, I cleaned TB, replace new air filter, erase, but the code came up again, can you help me what todo, thank you.
These people never answer replies. This video isn't a good representation of what to do in this situation. They didn't even include the relearn procedure.
I have a 2017 Hyundai Elantra and the RPMs drops fast randomly to a stall when I take my foot off the gas. When I restart car it’s fine sitting idle. Can anyone help?
Mine is doing that also for a while i was thinking its the throttle body because i already changed the map sensor or it might be miss firing bad spark plugs or ignition coils
Can i remove throttle body without draining coolant water Can i just remove hose pipes and remove throtel body Also u didnt show us how to clean throttle body
Hi I have low RPM and car stall a bit, I all ready clean throttle body and reinstall it, car goes faster and smooth, but idle I think is low than normal and car shakes a bit when low rpms. Need help
