Congratulations, this is the first and only how to remove the overhead console electrical connectors! I have watched several (MANY) of these and none show how to disconnect the electrical connectors! The overhead console is not removed if the electrical connectors are NOT disconnected! Thank you, though mine is a bit different on my 2004 Chrysler mini van!

Awesome, thank you for showing the complete breakdown of the console. That gave me an idea to install a rocker switch in the space in between the map lights to control my light bar.

have you seen leaks from the overhead console on rams? mine is doing that now not sure if its a sunroof issue or windshield/seal issue

Great Video! Thanks! Do you sell the rear window switch? Also to take power from here for a Garmin dash camera, where should I tap into? Map Light as it is hot without ignition on?

Well guys, I was doubting as some of you are but I finally got pissed off and figured if it breaks, it breaks. Even then it was hell getting it loose. You feel like you peel the hide off your finger tips. I needed to reinstall the switch that had came loose. My truck is a 2018 Ram 2500 Tradesman Crew Cab. As described in the video, it did finally pop loose. Good Luck to all.

Is this process any different for a 2014? The overhead console looks identical, but the amount of downward force i am having to apply is going to break the plastic before it releases from the clips. Does it require a steady pull, or a jerking force? i really don't want to break the thing.

I have a 2018 RAM 3500 Limited crewcab and I can not seem to get it to come off with this method. The whole headliner seems to be pulling down. Any updates to consider?

For those who think their truck is different (like I did with a 2017 Sport)... it’s not. It’s a total pain but it WILL come down. Something I found helpful was to use one hand to push UP on headliner while JERKING the piece down at the same time. Agreed that otherwise the headliner will sag down and fight you. Good luck! Oh... and I’m still battling with middle red plug, lol.

Thanks, Mike. One of the LED reading lights is out in my truck. The dealer said the light cannot be replaced - the whole console must be replaced. They quoted me $480 for the labor you did in 5 minutes and $294 for the replacement console. Does 1A Auto sell just the light?

+Steve Willis Thanks for watching! We do not carry just the light or the overhead console. You will have to replace the map light assembly like you see at the 2:32 mark in the video.
