[HOW TO] Remove & Replace Interior Fuse Block - 2015-2022 Canyon/Colorado (After You Break it 😑)

I damaged a slot on the interior fuse block of my 2019 GMC Canyon when doing a modification. Luckily the fuse block is easy to replace, and not very expensive.
If you happen to do the same to your fuse block, the part number should be listed on a sticker on the front side of the block. You can reorder the correct part based on that.

Who would think the fuse panel plastic would be so fragile? Be careful modding out there folks. Luckily the fuse panel on our truck is relatively inexpensive, and easy to replace.

God bless you for making this video. Turns out I didnt need to remove my fusebox (I was misreading the diagram, F41 is not on the backside) but without this video I wouldn't have been able to remove it and find out

To get power for you dash cam tap the wires right behind the 12v outlet then run your wires under passenger carpet then through that area up the right c pillar.

That seems more complicated than using a fuse tap like I did.

Way to fess up to a faux pas. Move the 50A fuse from F44DA to F40DA position to make your 12V power port constant hot.

Yea, I figured I goofed up, might as well share it. That's an interesting find. I don;t think I have a need for the 12v power port to be live all the time at the moment, but if I do in the future, I'll keep that in mind.

Suggestion for you on top of the fuses you see two little tabs that is so the tip of your multimeter can touch so you don't have to make holes or tear stuff up

I am at virtual ground zero on understanding how these work, but now that you have an extra fuse box, can you just harvest one of the terminals from the old damaged one and add it to the new one, instead of the tap? this is what was suggested to me to add aftermarket gauges with their own fuse in my 2006 GTO.

I guess technically I could have done that, but you'd have to open up the fuse block. And I didn't want to risk breaking the new one, so I just swapped the new one in. The fuse tap has been working fine for a while now, no issues.

Do you know what is the biggest tire size you can run on a 2018 canyon Denali 20” rim, factory height no level or lift ?

Whatever the equivalent of 265/70r17. I think that’s about as big as you can go on a stock height. With no lift.

I have a dash cam hardwiring kit that has positive and negative wires. The instructions tell me to connect them to the positive and negative poles of the fuse box. For the life of me I can’t figure out where that would be on the interior fuse box on my 2019 Colorado. Any ideas?

@@fondupot I’m thinking of cutting the connector off the positive wire and putting a fuse tap on it to just use a constant power fuse from the box, then connecting the negative connector to a ground screw somewhere.
