this is what I was wondering with my 2004 crv, been on the thing all morning with my impact and pb blaster, was about to break out my angle grinder but wanted to find someone else that could confirm I was doing the right thing hahah, thanks for sharing man, bout to go cut this thing out!
Exactly what I'm dealing with broke two breaker bars so far heat doesn't do anything and impact tools are useless. Thanks for confirming my assumption of just chopping it off
I gave myself a hernia removing a seized axle nut on a 1994 Probe GT years ago. I borrowed my dad's acetylene torch lol and turned that shit into liquid.
@@559powerscape Yeah I don't know what it was about those front wheel drive cars from the 1990's but they all seem to seize the axle nuts. In addition, the CV axles in my Probe GT didn't seem to last more than 10k miles which meant taking the axle nut off many times. Maybe it was from me slamming gears but I have not had this problem with other cars of different eras. After the 2nd or third time, I lubed that b@tch up with anti seize when reassembling.
@S D 🤣🤣🤣🤣 ive always said you live, you learn, lol damn must of been something with the design of the axles cause i slam gears all day every day lol...yeah i hope i dont have to take them off any time soon lol
@@559powerscape I wonder if they are reverse threaded? Meaning that every time you take off hard from a stop, it torques the nut even tighter? I've honestly never looked to see if they are reverse threaded, but that's my theory anyway lol! Great talking with you Sir!
@S D i think its cause of the heat....expanding and contracting back in forth. Causing it to grove its self perfectly in the threads of each other....like their holding hands now....i dont know....just a theory too lol. Have a great day! And thank you for your Support!
