Thank you for this post - yesterday my passenger side pillar started flapping in the wind while driving on the highway. I was able to pull off the road and remove the Pillar - all my clips are broken. I need to order a set of clips !! If you ever need a Turnstile - let me know !! Patrick McAllister
Same thing happened to me. But I had one clip left to limp home on. Judging by your profile pic you're a form of law enforcement so to clarify I was doing the exact speed limit at the time (not 132 mph)
Is there any easy way to get the pins out of the Pillar if they are broken off? Do I just have to break them out? On my Range Rover 2013, all the clips have broken off so removing the trim was easy but all 5 of the plastic pins are still in the pillar since they were snapped off. Thanks for the help!
@@alexanderwebster3202 I forget where I saw it but I saw someone use a hammer and Phillips head screwdriver to get the broken pins. I just put the screwdriver on the middle round part of the pin and hit it with the hammer breaking it and I got them all out. The plastic pieces went into the frame and I'm not sure where they go or if they fall out but the holes are now open. Apparently whoever had the car before me had this problem and they used some sort of caulking to hold the trim in place so I need to figure out how to remove the caulking to get the trim on but the plastic pins are out by doing that.
@@JupiterSailfish i did what you said and that worked fine new clips in and a pillar secure. I think they will just be sat at the bottom of the frame of the pillar haha. Great advice thank you mate
Hi. Thanks for the great videos. I have a leaking car caused by (I hope) a blocked sunroof pipe. I have been told that the pipe runs down the A pillar. Do you know if this is on the inside of the car. If it is do I have to be careful of the Airbag on that side. Also _ where is the drain pipe exit. Thanks
Hi Sorry for late reply - on vacation. If you open the sunroof there is normally a drain hole in each corner of the roof on most cars ( none of our Range Rovers have a sunroof ). There is then a pipe that runs down inside the pillar to the underside of the car. If this is blocked i would suggest using compressed air to clear any blockage.
powerfulukltd You have to be careful with that trick. It can blow the joins away causing massive leakage in the future. Best to use some bendy but thick strimmer plastic wire.
