How to Remove the Dash on a Ford Focus 

Congratulations, one of the best ever instructional videos I seen on RU-vid. You've covered every quirk and trick clearly and concisely. Well done.

This was an excellent guide for when I performed the 2003 to 2007 Focus dashboard conversion last year. That obviously included taking all of the pieces from the 07, plus the crash bar. 12 hours of disassembly, labeling sandwich bags with what screws or bolts they had and where they go, labeling the wiring connectors, rewiring the hazard connector to disconnect the PATS light so that the 07's hazard switch would work right. Reassembly was with the crash bar in first, HVAC tubing, wiring harness repositioning, new dash in, reconnecting the steering column (I left the wheel connected to the column), passenger airbag in, airbag cover on, glovebox in, and finishing with the new radio dash kit. It was an adventure!

Great video, and very well edited. I'm working on an '07 and, it's not exactly the same, but it's close. I've been working from a Chilton's service manual which mentioned using a bolt to remove the air vent clips, but uselessly didn't give any clue as to which size. Thanks for this!

This is the best instruction video I have ever seen! I was trying to fix a buzzing noise inside the dash of my 2013 Nissan Sentra. Luckily all I needed to remove was the lower dash panel and tighten a metal piece under my steering wheel. But this video still helped a lot and I still watched it all the way through because I'm new to working on cars and it was so insightful and interesting. Thank you for making this video. If you ever have videos on 2013 Nissan Sentra, or how to get something out that fell in the dash vent, I'd definitely be interested. ;)

Thanks Mark that was very well explained, I had mice nesting in my heater intake but I think they might have gone up into the ducting behind the dash, there is an unpleasant stink that needs to be removed, John

Lol the orange connector at 8:09 is the same connector for various wiring harnesses on the Ford Sierra i have which is almost 30 years old, nice!

I agree with you all. Great video among many mediocre videos. THe one thing that you left (or edited) out was the way to remove the cover from the passenger side airbag. I nearly killed myself trying to get in out last night. There are three bolts in the back holding the cover to the frame, and they're a real pain in the ass to get to. The way I was prying on it wasn't exactly finish work, or safe for that matter. Anyway, very helpful and a high five in your direction.

When rmoving the airbag you should really explain about the 2 bolts under the dash holding the cover down. I looked for 3 hours to find these so I wouldn't bend my cover. Thanks for the information though, it was helpful.

what size are the bolts for the drivers side airbag? I have tried 5m to small 6m to big I've also tried standard sizes with no luck. is this one of those stupid sizes no one has? thanks for the video it helped a lot.

Hello, I have done this too replace the heater matrix. Renstalled it, and now the direction air dial does not seem to push air in the direction selected. Looking under the dash I can see it operates the mechanism into the fan housing. Do you know what may be wrong?? Thank you
