A few people mentioned that Elric's arm looks "weird". If you rewatch 1:08 you'll see that I posed for the reference of the arm (holding a broomstick) to get that twist position. I wanted his body language to nonchalantly be dragging the sword, thumb out. It is accurate anatomically. The issue with "correct" is that it sometimes looks weird, like taking a photo from an odd angle. 🤔

Well, it's a bit different to my ear. Moorcock says Mel nih boe neigh. She says Mel nee buh nee. And I like how the L is pretty much inaudible.

Here's an idea - how about a video on effectively using chiaroscuro? There are lots of classical examples, but a graphic novel inspiration might be Steranko's "Chandler"

I know you did a study of Berni Wrightson recently but I think you might also like his studio mates from the late 70s, specifically Micheal Kaluta and Barry Windsor Smith. Both are masters of illustration, specifically Kaluta who loves detail, can work in a lot of different styles, but is also great at design.

Great interpretation, however Stormbringer should be more slender and long going by the book description. Love your line work though.

I considered this indeed, then took liberties after seeing the many interpretations by other artists. He's a slender guy, so a more elegant sword would gave been visually more fitting than a 'dragon slayer', I agree with you.

thanks for introducing me to elric of Melniboné. when I trace a drawing on lightbox the drawing loses spontaneity it doesn't even look the same. do you have any advice? How do I increase the thickness of the nib handle?

One thing that helps with spontaneity are quick sketches (30 seconds) of a pose, and figure drawing. I'll be talking more about this in my next video. For pen handles, have a look at this article: longstrideillustration.com/best-dip-pens-for-drawing/
