Thank you for this! Have you had further experience with this product? To retain the flexibility of a fiberglass pole that does need to bend a fair amount (like for the instant pop-up tents you throw in the air and it comes down... a tent!). Does one need to use the entire length of the roll of 'tape' - or can one just use a shorter length of tape? (I have two repairs to make anyway - so I think I could work fast enough to do two). The poles do need to bend considerably. Any further ideas?
I have some tents that are broken at the middle of the pole. So when the tent is set up properly with no issues or broken poles, the poles do slightly bend. Do you think this product would make the pole too hard to where it would not bend at all and the tent still wouldn't be able to be set up properly?
I used this wrap for the very same thing but had a split in my tent pole. It does reinforce the pole and if double wrapped will be much stiffer. Maybe too stiff depending on what you need.
