The battery shown in this video is SMF type. It means, sealed maintenance free. Sometimes it is also known as gel type battery as it uses sulphuric acid in gel form. Due to this design there will not be any acid spillage and you can use it any position. If you are going to add water to the battery you can't change the position of the battery as there will be spillage of the chemical. Batteries are designed by experts and it is better not to alter thier design. Always remember little knowledge of anything is not safe and sometimes it is also dangerous. 😸
Whats your point, you selling batteries?they added acid not water, They took a useless batt and made it useful again!it's the green thing to do these days!!!%
I've watched numerous videos just like this. Some People below commented correctly that the SMF type batteries in (MY) Backup power supply lay on their side, hence the gel. Second, you are reviving the voltage but not the amperage. The battery will still have no capacity.

Adding acid can revive a gel cell battery but two problems I see with doing this as he has done is one you loose the ability of the battery to be used in different positions. My power back up on my pc has the battery on its side. The other is venting the small caps could allow for the acid to leak out. This all said I wonder if perhaps adding the acid as he has done then allowing the battery to sit and rehydrate the gel acid that was evidently dried out then drain excess and not venting the caps. I would like to hear other opinions on this
THATS IT! poke a metal pin down into the battery plates, damaging them and shorting them out. Maybe even causing a spark and creating an explosion when you ignite the hydrogen gasses
Sir kya kisi charged lead acid battery ka water discharge battery ne dal den to kya wo discharge battery bhi full charge battery ki tarah work karegi .
Too much time showing the battery was dead. Where's the load test to confirm that the battery holds a charge? If you leave the battery alone for hours is the voltage still 6V?
hey ,if anyone else trying to find out learn how to recondition batteries at home try Panlarko Recondition Planner (just google it ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my work buddy got cool success with it.
Cheers for the Video! Forgive me for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about - Rozardner Powerful Battery Reality (probably on Google)? It is an awesome one off product for learning how to recondition an old battery minus the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my m8 at last got amazing results with it.
Yah I noticed it the positive probe of the m.tester is at the negative sign of the battery, while the negative probe of the m.tester is at the positive sign of the battery, w/c is wrong.
Adding acid-water to an old battery, offsets the chemical _window_ in which the battery operates, greatly reducing it's capacity. You should have tried just adding water and charging it.
Adding acid water could help only when the cell is not shorted. In most cases theese batteries are often overcharged due to errorneous design of charging circuits, which is very often when the battery is used as a backup power supply. This causes drying the battery cells, but not shorting them. The acid water sits above the rock-solid dryed gell residuum, that causes the capacity loss, but it may work. And that's why distilled watter will not work. Correct way should be melting and removing the acid gell residuum, but I do not know how to do it.
If a battery was down an inch of liquid yes put distilled water but if a battery is completely dry you need to get new battery acid from the automotive store
That depends, I have done this with car batteries for years. It will only work if the cells is low on water. If the batteries are broke due to sulfatation you have to do a de-sulfate the batteries. And trust me living in Norway where cold weather is a heavy drain on batteries this works. in my cabin I serviced my solar batteries every year this way and had them for 18 years believe it or not, albeit not very heavy used, still 18 years. Now I use get old car batteries for free and re-service them and use them in a solar powerbank. Ok not the best batteries to use, but they are free. As a ending note, by doing this you will not get new batteries with 100% capacity, but every thing above 70% is still better than buy new, when they can last another 2-3 years.
the whole idea is to desulphate the battery. It is because the sulphate on the lead plates, blocks the electrons from efficiently traveling from one plate to the other
For all you folks saying testing a battery with reverse polarity on the test leads is wrong ... no, it's not. The meter will display is the battery's voltage with a negative (-) symbol in the display. As for the rejuvenation of the battery being successful? ... I can't say, I've never tried doing that.
The first time he check the voltage is (positive to negative) and (negative to positive) That was wrong the correct is (positive to positive) and (negative to negative) Just like what he did the second time he check the voltage!!! Watch clear fully:)
