Really thank you sir,i just have repaired a clicking HDD by cleaning the contacts to the pcb and motor side and the disk came to life.Previous attempts was to solder all the pcb joins and the disk worked for some time due to the removal of the pcb but had many intermittent problems over the time.The last time i checked it i decided to throw it away but then it left aside only by my lazyness.

Hello friend, I have a question, out of context. I have a Seagate Barracuda ES HDD, (3 platters) but I removed the internal parts, leaving only the Motor and the Logic Board (control) because I would like to use it for a Mini Sander but, after removing just the needle assembly, the Motor does not run (before it was running normally). I've tried several ways, connecting pins 2-6 and 3-5 with a jumper, but there's no way to get it to turn. Could it be that this type of HD only works with the needle assembly in place? Please let me know if you have any tips on this; Thank you.

Great video! I have to old harddisk with many photographs and video footage of last 13 years but I can not get working my both harddisks! After seeing your video and especially the such a huge possitive problem solving response, I am gonna give a try to get them working as the material I have saved on it, has a such a great sentimental value as many people and family members have died in the past years! Just a question! When I try to start desktop, it start immediately by the start up with makinkg sound like someone is ticking with a hammer on my harddisk = it is hanging! tik tik tik, tik tik tik! What could be this? I have not used for so many years and will try if it will work now or not! If not I will follow your procedure to get working.

Hi I have a hardisk with the Rom (Bios burned - in the sense that PCB's rom is missing) Reason I had buying a card to do the swapping but the repairman lost the original card) Do you think it is possible to recover my Seagate Hardisk? In short, the HD has never been opened and card that has does not have the original BIOS I feel the engine turns but it doesn't see any data windows with new pcb donnor Thx Franco Italy

Very Good Video. मेरे पास 40gb की हार्ड डिस्क हे. उसको मेने एक-दो बार फॉर्मेट किया था. उस वक्त कुछ गलती हो गयी थी. उसके बाद हार्ड डिस्क डिटेक्ट नहीं हो रही. " disk boot failuer " का message आता है. दूसरी हार्ड डिस्क 80gb की हे. उसमे भी same problem है. इस fault को कैसे निपटाए।

how to check the drive to see if anything was written to before it stopped working? the white light on my wd external drive doesnt come on, it worked on my old pc, not on new one, i tried a laptop i couldn't figure out. please help. I can still rma wd but dont want to until i verify nothing is on the drive.
