Our little pesky O-ring rubber washer got lost. The comments helped me punch a small hole in short segment of a wide blue rubber band used for broccoli. That helped hold the spring and plunger in place from the inside of the filter cup. Great hack. Thanks one and all.

Thanks for the tip! I will try that! I was thinking of using a rubber band just wrapped around it. I unfortunately noticed too late my rubber washer was gone and went out with the green bin so gone forever since it was picked up! Good tip to find a used filter basket otherwise. My coffeemaker is under warranty but can't find receipt!

Yay! So glad I saved my parts. I was washing the brewing basket and dislodged the pieces by accident. I called a replacement parts place to see if they could get me a new basket but they said the parts were discontinued. He did mention though that it was good I saved the parts as I could watch a RU-vid video on how to put it back together. Thanks a bunch!!! 😁😁😁👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

🌷My husband found online a rubber washer 3/16ths x 0.5 inch, two in a plastic bag at Lowes which fits and works in the brew basket of the twelve cup programmable Mr Coffee coffeemaker.

Many thanks!!! The whole thing flew off. and I had no idea how to put it back together. Somehow the stopper went missing. I had no idea there was a stopper until I watched ur video. Probably in disposal and got ground up. Anyway I tried the hair tie but I couldn't maneuver in that tiny little cup but I did find an old sponge type thing from a Toddy Coffee Maker. I cut it down and cut a hole in it with scissors. And that seems to be working(if not Ace trip next) Thank you! The replacement is $10 dollars(includes cup I don't need), and there is nothing in the manual describing these parts.

Wow I feel so stupid. I’ve wondered for 2 weeks now I know why. The lid disappeared thanks to my kids. LOL I thought I was putting the little rubber washer thing on wrong or something cause I new I had all the spring and washer. Just not the lid to the actual pot. Thank you for posting this video. I have the "Away From Home" Mr. Coffee model. It's worked for two years, and I was just not understanding why the water boiled and filled the basket, but wouldn't drip this morning. After watching the first few minutes of your video, I realized, I never put on the lid to the glass carafe, so once I did, problem solved!

I’ve discovered that the reason these coffee makers overflow is because the carafe lid sits too low thus preventing it from pushing up on the basket valve. On a previous mini Mr. Coffee all it took was epoxy gluing a piece of wooden coffee stirrer (Starbucks) to the carafe hinge, making the carafe lid sit higher and thus pushing up the basket valve more. That repair lasted for years until the machine just gave out. I’ve just done this with another 4-cup Mr. Coffee carafe lid. Works like a charm!

What do you do if the craft that came with the coffee pot is too short to push up the plunger so the coffee can go through?... It's just like a smidge if I lift up the craft just a hair then the coffee will come out but I don't want to sit there and hold the pot

Hey there! I have watched your video. What do you do if the spring and all the parts are working but the coffee is not dispensing? I saw the plunger does not touch the coffee maker top? When I push the coffee maker top up on the plunger it works and the coffee comes through.
