@@HughesMotorized dude understand and all but pretty cheap and they do come in pretty handy when doing carb barrel spring and clutch adjust also help out with break cable adjust keep up the good work F.B

Take off clutch cover press clutch unscrew the flower nut a couple of turns release clutch and make sure the the clutch arm is even with the sprocket case

That's how the CDI works, you'll get a reading one way and nothing when you swap leads. I try to keep fresh plugs on hand. The "spark" is quite weak and sometimes you cannot see it but you can certainly feel it. I usually #1 check coil (make sure coul backing has a good ground to crankcase), then #2 inspect spark plug wire & cap, #3 swap out plug then #4 swap CDI. Good idea to have spares of all and then if you swap out be sure and label them as good or bad. Sometimes electric components can test "good" and still fail when full voltage is applied. A bad head gasket can also make a no start situation. Good luck

I'm in your ballpark weight-wise. you got it. Pedal to get momentum and motor to assist till it takes off. nothing extra to do on belt. just don't run it too tight as it will be hard on bearings. Keep drive chain adjusted, don't over rev and watch for cars is my 2 cents. Enjoy!

Mine locked up when I skipped the oil one day. I took head off and buffed out the damage. Runs again. Need compression, spark, fuel. no compression, check his the rings installed. Btw, 4ounce oil for half gallon tank ratio. I learned that.

Might be coil. Just have to sort thru and see. Many different things can cause it not to start

The frame is on a stand and the front is lower than the rear. You can run that engine upside down. Just need to keep carb right side up and float bowl near level

Tuning is probably the issue. Expansion chamber and proper jetting would help

did you replace piston too? might be piston

It's a capacitor. It discharges. Put the leads on and then reverse the leads

It's a range, and if it works..... It works. Usually if they fail, the winding is open and you get no reading or they get wet and you have very little resistance

Im doing just about everything you did in this vid for one of my bikes now but cleaning carb just swapping cdi/coil and sparkplug. Also gas tank may need cleaned. But i tried to unscrew the cdi wire just to test it i cant get it to unscrew or pop off. Dont want to break it if its still good. Do they all unscrew like that? Looks 100% the same.. My issue; the bike goes to start and will kind of run if im going down hill but almost no power/speed than on flat road it dies out. At one point going down a big hill it sputtered even a little backfire type pops each pop i felt the power coming back. 1st thoughts was fule. Bike ran great driving in very light rain but no front fender roads was wet and it just died on me power/speed hit a wall and slide down fast.

I prefer a properly installed rag joint. I have a bike w/ hub adapter but it has extra thick spokes so no issues

@@Konstantinosmo I'm not a fan of shift kits. Extra friction, extra maintenance & more shit to go wrong. I also prefer a manual clutch on the 2 strokers. More control

@@HughesMotorized One thing i am afraid about the shift kits is the bicycle chain (is weak, not like the strong 415 chain) wich connects the front double sprocket(at the pedals) with the rear wheel sprocket...

@@HughesMotorized ty i will be sending pics and a vid shortly. So after watching a few youtube videos what i did was the needle was in the center (forgive my lingo…..the needle on the cable that goes into the carb) was in the dead center. So i moved it up a slot so now the circular ring is 2nd from the top. This helped dramatically. But it wont idle at stop with the clutch lever held in. I have not messed with the SCREW on the carb and im assuming that needs adjustment??? How many turns? Which way do i turn it??? A video said to completely unscrew it and screw it back in 10 to 11 turns and go from there. Ya……i dont get it. Im learning and having fun learning how to work on a small engine with a carb for the first time but this is a head scratcher. I just want the damn thing to idle when i come to a damn stop sign.

@@HughesMotorized and yes the head is torqued down to 9 foot pounds……the carb is in all the way and tightened down good……fuel line is from autozone 3/16 proper black fuel line (not the cheap shit either cuz the one that comes with the kit is a joke of a noodle). The fuel filter is on correctly with the arrow pointed towards the carb. Any more ideas why i have loss of power and not idling at a stop??? Im guessing it has to do with that damn SCREW that adjusts air/gas ratio??? And i also saw your video where it says the stock 70 jet is too much for it to go down to 66-68. Im in El Paso Texas and elevation is over 3000 above sea level and I have super steep hills where i live so i need to get this stupid CARB working correctly. Pls help

@@andrewmena3118 Turn idle screw in (clockwise) a 1/2 a turn and see. I don't mess with getting it to idle while sitting. I simply get the idle close and maintain idle by hand. That is turning back on the throttle to keep engine running. These are cheap, rough running engines. They don't run super smooth

@@HughesMotorized I cant get my 2 stroke going my spark plug is pretty dark I think I'm running to much oil in it possibly idk I checked the carb seems fine though and magneto I literally just started running the kit it's in break in ,

@@jonny6758 try a fresh spark plug and see if you are getting spark. These engines run fine on 40:1, mixed at 3 1/2 ounces oil to a gallon of gas

Install and turn engine over slowly. It shouldn't hit the piston at Top Dead Center

I use generic 2 stroke oil I get at the auto parts place or the hardware store. Cheap and easy to get

@@sammicah21 You don't. Forget 16:1 for breakin. 40:1 from day one. 3.5 ounces to a gallon. Promise, it's what the best builders do

@@HughesMotorized thanks I have the small bottle mixing bottle it has a marking on it so do I feel the petrol up to the mark just before 40 and the top up the oil to make it at 40 to one? The bottom has 40 to one mark, 50 to one, 31 to one and 25 to one

Actually the problem was that idk somehow melted a hole dead center of my piston(never seen that before)....i was told overheating. But I only rode bike 15 minutes...some said i was running to lean.. but i own a pk80 Runwell w reed window piston setup,16mm carb
